Ricoh IM C2000 - Duplicated text

    Hi everyone.

I have a client with a new Ricoh IM C2000 (brand new, out of the box). He was printing with no problems when we install the machine but after around 1 month he call us because he was having a problem with the images he was printing, the text (white text) was duplicated all over the image (like faded text or something like that). I manage to fix this problem by calibrating the colors but it works for 2 days and the problem show up again. This machine has only 20k pages of work (color). What do you guys think could I do to fix this problem?

I'll attach some photos so you guys can see what i'm talking about.

does it also occur if you print the same document on a different printer?

Do they usually print what is practically full bleed black background? Assume they do if it's how their menu looks. And that's not the ideal machine for that type of printing. Could be the black PCU failing, I'd swap the B and Y to test

We've had the exact same issue on a IMC2500 (doing full colour images with repeated text shadowing), Ricoh says it is a limitation of the model; however you can decrease the transfer bias and increase the toner onto the page.

This will mitigate the problem, however it will not be perfect, and the copier will use more toner to compensate.

Looks like a limitation to me - that "office color" print engine will not fullfill this "demands" to handle this inverted text&background scheme perfectly thanks to short diameter OPC drums.

Try reducing the process speed by choosing the highest DPI setting + Quality settings in the driver or use thick paper with the approriate paper type setting, this "might" help and reduce this effect. I'd bet that this is noticeable with new parts, too - perhaps just more subtile.
