    [Misc] Format Hard Disk

Is it possible to format a hard disk on a Ricoh MP C5503 via the Web Imagine Monitor or via accessing the device remotely?

If not, how can I wipe the disk when next onsite?

No you can't format the HDD remotely on the C5503 but the later models you can.

To format the HDD log into service mode & run SP-5832-001

You'd be best off removing the HDD and formatting it with a caddy.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

      Hit it.

Can I on the C5504? Got them to do too.

Can you explain how I "log into service mode & run SP-5832-001"?

          Thanks

How? Where is the HDD located and how do I remove?

The answer is, no you can not get into service mode.

Yes, use the remote support app with this you can access service mode remotely.

Remote support app? Sounds exactly what I'm looking for. What do I need to do?

If all he needs to do is wipe the HDD to delete the addressbook etc then this HDD format is ideal.

Remember a copier is not like a Windows PC not really any sensitive data stored on a copier hdd.

Sorry, bit confused as to what you are suggesting.

Think all I really need is to know what buttons to press on the device to wipe the disk. (How to get into the correct menu, where to look, what to press, etc)

That depends on what has been printed to it. If Disk Overwrite Security has not been activated the image data of recent jobs will still be on the HDD and can be accessed by someone who knows how.
