A customer is asking to fax abroad to Germany once in a while off a Ricoh machine. But it is not transmitting, Is there any bit switches or any SP modes that need setting up or have I completely just missed something simple??????

You need to have the fax address book numbers programmed with the +44 code etc.
A simple test press on hook, dial your international number do you hear a fax tone? if yes pop your fax in the DF & press go.
And as always make sure the firmware is the latest.

Add the destination number to the address book, using (+49 for Germany), and select International TX mode for that entry in the address book, if International TX mode is not an option, try changing Fax SP 1-101-001 bit 0 from 0 to 1There are 10 types of people in this world, those who understand binary maths and those who don'tComment

If there's one thing dying off faster than faxing in general it's international faxing.
It looks like your're in Wales, and I don't know what your rates would be, but in the US you'd be eaten alive by the charges.
Keep in mind that you will almost certainly be charged for calls that connect and fail, right along with the successful ones. I once had a customer with line problems (local to their area) that went ballistic when they got their phone bill for all the failed faxes to various locations in Europe. Somehow, it was our fault.
Ask the customer if they know what it's costing them.
