Looking for Riso RC5600 battery

Hi,

Our Riso RC5600 has been displaying "Please replace battery" and we called the company and they said it was an obsolete model and they do not have a battery. Since the machine is running pretty well, I thought I'd check to see if we could find a battery somewhere.

Any suggestions?

The machine in a dinosaur but the battery should be on the underside of the control panel and is a typical watch battery. Like a CR 2032 (have to pull it out to know for sure). Found at a hardware store.

Thanks so much! That is good news. We were getting ready to meet with a salesperson to purchase a new one. Since this is a church, and the RisoGraph is working fairly well (even though we know it is very old), we would rather spend the $5000 - $10000 on something else!

Warning Label

When I checked our Riso, it had a warning label saying there was a possibility of explosion of the battery was incorrectly replaced and said to replace it with the one the manufacture says to replace it with (which apparently they don't make anymore). Is this an actually possibility?

It's the same type of battery that's in your keyless remote for you car. Just make a mental note as to the direction of the battery before it's removed (1 of 2 possabilities). The "explosion" would be of the battery cracking and the contents coming out. The new Riso's are GREAT and will run for a long time also. Good luck.

Hey, thanks so much. We were able to get a couple of batteries at our local CVS and fix the problem. This is after the company told us the batteries were 'obsolete' so we would need a new one. So, hopefully we can use the current Riso for a few more years. Thanks so much for your guidance!
