Bizhub 601 and 223 HDD Question.

Hi All

A couple of quick questions....Do these boxes come with HDD or as an option ? Also what are the sizes and can they be replaced with generic ones? These are going back to the leasing company from a Dr office...All about Hippaa.

Generally for us we just do Physical format and that is good enough for SS and other Government and other medical requirements and as it could be an option
just go into tech mode and look and see if it is installed, format and should be good.

As far as I know for mono machines (at least 223 series) HDDs are optional (at least I don't get them when after-leasing machines come to me). I do not have much experience with HDDs on these series, but on C220 I had no problems with putting normal SATA HDD. So on these series there shouldn't be any problem with putting normal SATA HDD

Bizhub 223 and 283 have the HDD as an available option (required if users want to Scan To Email), the 363 and 423 came with the HDD installed at factory.
Can't confirm the 1-series, I despise them to the point of not researching their options unless absolutely necessary at time of service.

Logical format then Physical format will effectively wipe any pertinent data from the HDD, though it won't zero it out. Best bet is to spike them and then cook them, (just ask Lois Lerner,) but if they're being returned to leasing co., just do a physical format and be done with it.

I think the 601 uses a full size hdd while the 223 etc use a laptop hdd.

601 was an option for hdd and it was 60gb neither came with hdd

you can select HDD "not installed" and remove them.
we charge 250.00 for this as we have to install another for lease return.
konica released a refurb HDD at a much lower cost.
