    Biz C224e F/W function ver 7

    Hi,

All my customers 4E series have the G20-M1 firmware installed from 2016. I see there is a new F/W GDS-M1 from Feb 2022. Should this be installed? Can I just install this new F/W without doing anything else? I've read the install instructions but are very confusing. Not sure if it showed soft sw 25 has to be set to 60?

    Thanks for the help

That's quite a jump for FW, I've done similar before and the machine couldn't take it - it died, but it doesn't necessarily mean it will happen to you. once you have done it, as far as I can remember - but I could be wrong softswitch 25 will be set to Hex 60, which will give you function version 7, if not, it's easy to do yourself

But TBH, unless you're having problems with the machine - I'd leave the FW well alone
Tip for the day; Treat every problem as your dog would.....If you cant eat it or f*ck it....then p*ss on it & walk away...

Thanks for reply. I saw it was a big jump and why I asked. Like I posted latest firmware before this new one was from 2016. There was none available before this new one. I'm surprised Kon/Min would even offer new F/W on this older model. Perhaps they know there are still a lot of the 4 series still in use.
Main reason I thought new F/W would help is many of my customer's with the 4 series are having scanning issues, etc.

Copyman can you attach FW update info sheet for me to see if it is worth to update?
As of function version your machines will be already at highest version 7 so you don't have to bother about SW25.

            Roger that, Thanks!

Ok, now I're read instruction and nothing special about this version, think I will skip that.

I believe this is the firmware that helps to resolve the current issues when the backup battery dies, and the machine is unplugged for an extended period of time..This firmware relocates this data to an area that is not affected by the dead battery keeping you from getting the TPM and input Serial Number (machine is an anchor) at power on. Saves on main board replacement. E

Thanks again everyone. Just wanted to post a follow up, updated the customers machine with the latest GDS-M1 and everything went well. Got a little nervous after installed when it sat with 2 fins on screen for like 5 mins but eventually came on and all good.

Not sure if this F/W related question that has nothing to do with this thread was ever answered? Can't seem to ever get a definitive answer. Even when I use to go to Kon/Min training classes the instructors couldn't answer:

When you update "special" firmware are all the previous versions installed as well?

Special firmware should only be used when directed..It usually is not a blanket fix for anything, but a fix for X if your having X, and is also used for very large accounts that need special settings. Regular firmware covers all the corrective changes. E

@Copyman if you can send me this C224e GDS-M1 firmware in my private I thank you.
Because I have a bizhub C224e crazier than Batman without a cape lol but it's true, she out of nowhere after use it keeps alternating the TCR data and Error C2557-2558-2553 and drops it to 0.00 (Magenta) and 0.01 (Black) according to a post I made days ago
                    Error C2557-2558-2553 TCR0,00(Magenta) e 0,01(Black)
And after restarting the equipment, it works again until the error occurs again.
Due to the current situation I risk updating the GDS-M1 firmware in an attempt to correct it if you make this FW available to me.
Thank you very much in advance

Don't think F/W will help with those codes. Usually means something going on with the Dev units or aftermarket toners, etc

Here is zip file for C224e Firmware dated Feb 2022:

Yes I understand you but the problem is that the Development Units are new and even so it presents TCR error.
It has already been tested until equipment units working and out of nowhere it gives a random error.
                        But thanks!
