    C364e Trouble Code c-1140

    Hi Folks,
I have a client with a C364e with an internal finisher throwing a c-1140 error code.
I did a reset and tried printing a meter sheet and it threw the code again. It pulled a sheet from tray 1, but stopped before getting to the transfer belt.
I couldn't find any reference on Mobile tech, but I did see something on the interwebs about checking the connections between the finisher and copier.
I could use all the help I can get.
    Thanks!

That C-1140 "trouble" code" is for issue with the internal finisher alignment plate home sensor. It has nothing to do with the paper jamming. Although there is a 11-40 "jam code" related to tray one feeding.

Sorry don't have a fix for the finisher issue, when ever I've had issues with those internal finishers I remove them or just replace with another finisher. Only because I always have extra finishers that customers didn't want when I sell off lease machines.

First I would remove finisher and see how machine works without. If machine works good without I would take covers off finisher and look at alignment plates and make sure they move free, broken belts, gears, etc.

Thanks for confirming what I was planning to do - take a replacement finisher with me and test the machine after removal.
      I greatly appreciate your help!!

It's not going to be easy to get to, but when you finally get down to the stapling tray, manually move the regulating plates through their motion to see what they're hanging up on.

The Toshiba variations on the internal finishers often break a rack gear that drives the regulating plates in/out. The regulation plates also just snap into a holder, and can come un-snapped.

Either way, its a major operation getting down to it. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Good point! Exactly why I just remove or replace them. Just too time consuming and not something you want to do in customers office. I've found that once they are taken apart that much they never seem to work right again, or a different issue pops up! Plus if you attempt the repair in customers office and 100 parts are laying everywhere you have to hear from the workers "are you going to be able to put that back together" ......
