    C308 Incorrect size/type indicated PC215

Firmware X4, 2 different PC215's on the same device and only out of the bottom 2 trays, tried swapping boards and bits and pieces (can provide details if needed). Can't seem to determine the why of it. I put one of the PC215's that was causing the error on the c308 to a c458 and it didnt do the same thing... No errors from tray 3 or 4. Could it be a DIPSW setting? Had a look but couldnt find anything about the PC215. The sizes and types are both showing as correct on the op panel through the paper settings before trying to make a copy from tray 3 or 4. Also tried a working PC215 from a c458 (no errors) onto the c308 and it errored on the c308!! Help!

Also paper does make it through but the machine complains about the size and type showinf a pic of the tray guides etc.

    Any help?

    Incompatible options? Should be 210.

The PC-115/215/415 are for the C458 series machines and are incompatible with the C308. Here is the configuration sheet for the C258/308/368

I should also add that I have also had this issue. Found out the hard way that the PC-110/210410 is the correct accessory

Add me to the list of finding out the hard way. I put an LCC from a C368 (PC410 same as 4 series) on a C458 and it jammed every time. Finally figured it out and put a PC415 on it. Reason I thought they were the same is the C454, C554 used the same LCC as the slower machines so I thought it would be the same with the 8 series. But I was wrong and wasted a few hours of my life before figuring it out

PC[x]10 on the 36PPM and slower, PC[x]15 on the 45PPM and faster when dealing with the 8-series machines. I'm not sure if this applies to the 8e B&W models, but does for the straight 8.

                Re: C308 Incorrect size/type indicated PC215

I did the same thing and bought a machine from a wholesaler that had the incorrect tray installed on it... Like others have said, it might be the wrong PC.. drove me nuts finding it.

And don't discount the possibility that someone may have even changed the cover for the model number of the unit, incorrectly.

Of all the things that a manufacturer can do, the least they could do is make the connectors proprietary for each model, so crap like this can't happen.

                      2 or 3 threads relating to this. pc110, 210, 410 go on 4e and slower 8's.
                      pc115, 215, 415 for faster 8's and all b/w 8e's.
pc116, 216, 416 on i series. (At least the slower ones we have bought so far. Not sure about high speed i series)

EXTRA POINTS TO THE TECH THAT CONFIRMS KMBS HAS JUST SWAPPED THE PINS AROUND ON THE OLDER PCX10 VS NEWER PCX15???
Mechanically the same. drawer works in either. Boards seem to be the same, so pin config looks like the answer. That would help all of us swap as needed. I'll try to find the time...
