    Print quality issues (lines)

    Hi Guys,

I have a KM C258 with some issues I can't solve on my own .

I already changed the transfer belt, and Y & C Drum (they were used parts so not sure if those are good either)

When printing black and grey it all looks good unfortunately not so good when you print in colour

Any of you guys have some tips ?

You must know the condition of used parts when you put them for test.

id go into the service mode, look at the life of the black dev, c and y drums look worn, same with belt
never get used parts, always get official or katun or lexmark if you wanna save some money, and use a modchip to bypass the drm

I cleaned the print heads multiple times

I know its not good to use used lifetime parts :P I just though it was worth the try.

I will look in to the K dev + order a C and Y drum see how far it takes me

thanks for the tips so far

WOW ...since when does this forum handle a thread with the word "print" in the title???

            @topic:

Well if the lines with missing colours are at the exact same position AFTER installing another drum set (no matter if they are used or not) I'd say this is not related to the drums.
Dirt on the laser glasses can be sticky sometimes so performing a dry cleaning cycle with the service tool might not do the trick.

I'd also recomment to print discrete full page CMYK half tone samples via service menu instead of the GDI demo page.

I thought it was when the title ended with the word "Print"

he'll probably have to take the print head and clean the glass on each one

yes, i just tested it, the word print first is fine, only when its the last word.
its still a bug. vBulletin 6 is out and we still run 4.2.5.

                The medication helps though...

                    Re: Print quality issues (lines)

I did do the CMYK via service menu (its also included in the PDF)

My thought is also the printer heads (i tried also cleaning them with isopropanol en a dry stick right after)
Maybe I need to the whole laser unit out to give it a good cleaning???

The lines are exacly on the same place on al the colors CMY

this points to the transfer belt, though you say black is good?

I did print out the half tone pattern its in the same PDF file

The issue is solved now, I changed the Y en C drum again with new ones and took out the PH unit and cleaned it good!

                          thanks for the help!
