Konica Minolta c308 address book icon missing on main display.

I have an off lease c308 hard drive was missing. I reinstall hard drive and did a physical format and local format. Then update firmware and movie data. I have done an initialization and clear data and then turn back on hard drive and reinstall firmware and movie data again. When it boots up everything comes up except the address book icon. I have look at the administrator settings /system setting/custom display settings/main menu default settings and if I turn one on there is no address book selection.

Can someone tell me what i am looking for to turn on address book icon

If it had a vendor/key counter previously installed on it, make sure software switch 35 is set to 0.

Software Switch 35 enabled has the following description:
Fax/Scan button and Box button are not available while a key counter is not connected

I don't know if this will fix it, but worth a try.

Thanks for the information but both Fax/Scan icon and Box Button icon are both display and if I press Fax /Scan icon I can see address book. just not on the main display.

even in web monitor that function is not available to add address book.

in service mode, what is the HDD vacant space? its under memory hdd check.
is there a fax on this machine?

Are you talking on the main menu display screen? If so, that can be added using the Custom Display Settings.

-> Utility -> Administrator Settings -> System Settings -> Custom Display Settings -> Main Menu Default Settings.
- Select an empty button slot and choose Address Book as the shortcut key.

still working on problem when i find out how to resolve will let every know. I have done everything i can think of. wonder if it is a software sw setting.

One more thing along with address book icon missing on display and where you go into function and custom display no address book in that section. I cannot do scan to folder says server not found. I can-do scan to email.

is smb on? or is an authentication device preventing it?

i found that if you upgrade firmware that there are things that have to be change in the soft switch area. firmware is A7PU0Y0-F000-G00-W4 sw25 set to B0

that gave me address book Icon back on main screen. Now i just have to figure out the scan to folder problem not seeing sever error 107 possibly same problem a sw not set properly.
