    Kyocera P2040dn

    Hello,

I bought new Kyocera Ecosys p2040dn.
It is laser, black color only printer.

It prints one column in ligther shade, as in picture attachment.
What can it be. I will sent to service, but guy said that he is unfamilliar with this problem.
It is in warranty, 100 prints

You could have a dirty laser slit glass. It's simple enough to clean the laser slit glass. It's also possible that it could be dirty inside the laser, especially the polygon mirror motor.

You may also have poor developing in one area of the developing roller. It should be simple enough to see an area of poor toner coverage on the developing roller. If you're transitioning to aftermarket toner, you may notice the difference in image quality as the two toners mix.

You might have a contaminated or damaged primary or transfer roller. The primary roller can be cleaned with a minimum amount of water, then allowed to dry completely be for re-installing the roller. If you've done all these things, and the problem remains, then you can use the same method to clean the transfer roller. I generally do not clean the transfer roller with anything, unless there's nothing else left. The last time this came up, the enduser had cleaned the transfer roller with something oily, leaving a very weird image quality issue. To my surprise it cleaned up perfectly. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

      Thanks on your reply.
Printer is brand new, for personal use, toner is factory one.
When printing text only there is no faint/light trail, or my sight is not good enough

It seems like a defect from factory.

It's likely something obstructing the laser path or transfer roller but first try removing the developer and gently shaking it from side to side to redistribute the toner. Do this carefully and do it outside unless you don't mind piles of toner around you.

My money's on either a bit of loose toner on the laser aperture or some packaging tape on the transfer roller or primary charge roller.

whoever is to honor the warranty should look at it and repair whatever caused the issue. or give you a replacement.

Could it be the charge cleaner is not in its home position?
