    Re: Remember when ?

We use to race carts made of wood and bearings. We would get the ball bearing from the auto garages that had scrap engines ect, then we would make a sort of rectangular wood frame, say 3' x 2'. then add a piece of staright 1" x4" to the frame. on the front of that 1x4, we would attach a 2x4 and place a bolt and nut in the centre of both so this will move when a rope is attached to both ends of the 2x4 as the steering mechanism. two smaller ball bearings wiil be attached to that front piece and two bearings on the rear frame . [similar to a car really]
We would go to the steep hills and race . Guys would run off the road into the ditches and bruises and displaced arm ect, as those things will go fast.
hope you did not get bored with my description of the device. My parents would strictly forbid me and my brothers from such and i had to be a spectator.

      Re: Remember when ?

Every christmas eve, we had to slaughter a goat. Me and my cousin would get half toasted and i had to help in holding down the goat and he would do the sliting. I would turn my back but would also sneek a peep. I did so, because i reared those goats from kids as rearing goats was part of the household income.
Cutting up the meat was ok after as the booze seeped in more as a bottle was always there for us ,the butchers. city boys, how about you. Then will come the ducks, fowl and pigs. non gmo grown.

            Can't say that now.

some of the above i remember well as you mentioned them. I would not have if you had not name them here, like high chaparral, maude, falcon crest, big valley and outer limits.

one i am trying to get the name here, but just can't come to my tounge. let me see if i can describe it and maybe someone can bring the name to paper here.
was a group of guys who had space ship type of crafts that was based under the sea and they would perform rescue missions. This was not cartoon, but a 3d if i may call it so type charcters. I think they had base in the mountains too and they would fly out of there. vague description i know, but that is what i can come up with as of now.

                remember this one "mission impossible"

I remember the earliest batman in black and white, or is it my house only had black and white tv then.

The last episode was in 1962.

I had a battery powered model of it.

I'm probably wrong, but that kind of sounds like the TV show called "UFO".

(The sound is not great, and is kind of loud.)
They had a spacecraft that was mounted to the front end of a submarine, and a base on the moon.
And that reminds me of this:

(A good portion of that series is here if you are curious.)
