I thought this is how you get a machine to feed multi pages. Who needs separation !!!

I have used the ribbed rollers on the biz C203 series for the Pick up and they have worked much better than the original P/U roller. The K/M rollers wear out so fast. The service manual maint list has replacement for P/U, Feed & Sep done every 300,000. This is absurd! Lucky if you get 100,000 out of the original rollers.

Really strange is I have had the older B&W models, i.e. biz 200 series, etc that I never had to replace rollers in the paper drawers, only replaced the ADF rollers.

Wasn't it checked out before going to the customer's site? It seems to me that whomever was in charge of training this apprentice, might have left out a few tools (service manual, parts manual, tech bulletins) to be used when rebuilding. This was most likely not deliberate, but more likely a lack of training IMHO.
(three pick up rollers is kind of funny though - and I'm guessing that not one manufacturer uses that setup)

I did have a "fill-in set up tech" cut the 'remove this tag' (Sharp) by cutting the red ribbon, and not removing the 'lock down hardware'; 'help' does not always save you time.

I think the last machine the guy worked on was the samsung scx 6345. It uses the same rollers for pup/feed and sep. Don't be to hard on the guy. I remember going to get a haircut and the girl was new and could see the nervousness and anxiety in her. I said to her give it your best shot and if you mess up, don't worry, it will grow back. Grant confidence in the new ones of course with some advice.

By the way, those samsung rollers will run bald and never jam. The techs hardly replaced those rollers.

This belongs in the 'Copier Porn' thread, don't you think?
