Re: Just how Crazy is Donald Trump!
President Trump privately signed a bill on Thursday that allows states to withhold Federal money from organizations that provide abortion services, including Planned Parenthood, a group frequently targeted by Republicans.
The bill which the usually camera-friendly President signed without any media present, reverses an Obama-era regulation that prohibited states from withholding money from facilities that perform abortions, arguing that many of these facilities also provide other family planning and medical services.
The bulk of the money that Planned Parenthood receives goes towards preventative healthcare, birth control, pregnancy tests and other women's health care services. Federal law prohibits taxpayer dollars from funding abortions. Planned Parenthood claims that 3% of the total services that it provides to women are abortions. These abortions are funded via private donations from wealthy donars and average people.
As per the landmark Supreme Court ruling, Roe vs Wade, abortions have been legal in the USA for over 40 years.
One in five women in America have been to Planned Parenthood. Over 55 million women in America took advantage of Planned Parenthood's services last year especially among low income citizens.
Currently in the USA, largely due to the work of Planned Parenthood, unintended pregnancies are at a 30 year low. Teen pregnancies are at a historic low.
Planned Parenthood was originally conceived by Republicans.
House Speaker, Paul Ryan, called the signing a major "Pro-Life" victory.
"Women's worst fears are now coming true. We are facing the worst political attack on women's health in a generation as Republican lawmakers have spent the last three months trading away women's health and rights at every turn", Dawn Laugens, executive VP of Planned Parenthood said in a statement.
On this issue, Canada and most of the Western world are way ahead of the USA on women's rights. Amazingly 52% of white working women voted for Donald Trump although he lost the popular vote by 3.5 M people.
Ivanka Trump, a key White House advisor on women's issues, is on a seven day ski holiday in Canada with her husband and key Trump advisor, Jared Kushner, celebrating the Jewish Passover when her father signed this bill. For this President, this is the second time that two of his top advisors have not been present during the first 100 days of his presidency. This is considered very unusual as historically most White House staffers work long days and weekends during the highly watched first 100 days.

No need for abortion if a guy isn't involved after all. That's biology for you. It's just science.Comment

Re: Just how Crazy is Donald Trump!
Ivanka Trump is her father's key advisor on women's rights. President Trump signs this new executive order, without media attention, potentially limiting women's rights, as she is leaving for a week's ski vacation celebrating the Passover. I am not well informed on Jewish traditions but I understand that part of this celebration is to avoid work related activities.
President trump then takes off to Mar-A-Lago for the weekend without most of his senior White House advisory staff. At the same time, a US carrier battle group is approaching North Korea and North Korea is making very threatening warnings.Comment

Re: Just how Crazy is Donald Trump!
In an unexpected move today, Sean Spicer, White House Press Secretary, reported in uniform to the Pentagon today for Naval Reserve duty. It is unknown if or when he will return to the White House.
Sean made a major blunder this week using Hitler as an analogy to Syrian President Assad's use of chemical weapons. Both Republicans and Democrats in Congress called for his resignation.Comment

Re: Just how Crazy is Donald Trump!
Polls of Jews in America report that 88% of American Jews are pro-choice.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judaism_and_abortion
Ivanka Trump did meet with the head of Planned Parenthood on April 06 to better educate herself on the services provided by this organization.
President Trump stated that it is possible that he donated money to Planned Parenthood in the past but could not recall for sure.
Twice in President Trump's first 100 days in office two of his key advisors (Ivanka/ Jared) have been on vacation at critical moments.Last edited by SalesServiceGuy; 04-15-2017, 05:58 PM.Comment

Re: Just how Crazy is Donald Trump!
Oh, I was gonna stay out of this, but you had to mention the A word.
Look, I don't care what your political beliefs are, but you have to understand something. A prolifer believes, with all his heart, that the fetus is a human being. No matter what kind of arguments you come up with concerning costs, women's rights, opinion polls, or anything else, nothing can 'trump' the fact that the fetus is an innocent human being. Anyone who is really prolife votes on this issue alone. No other issue can come before it. Someone who is prolife sees abortion every bit as bad as gassing millions of people in ovens and burning the bodies.
I won't argue about whether or not the fetus is human. If you don't believe it is at this point, you're just shutting your eyes to it.
But when someone claims to be prolife (which Pres Trump has), and follows up with prolife action (which Pres Trump is doing), your criticisms sound idiotic and petty. If he believed, in his heart, what he's claimed to believe, and then had somehow rationalized his way to making it easier abortion providers to continue with the act, THAT would be something to criticize. THAT would be a serious act of cowardice.
Again--think for a second of what he believes. How could anyone who believes abortion to be murder in any way entertain the notion of funding the companies who provide it? No one is gonna change your mind about this (you being the reader) and I won't try. But just put yourself in the position of a prolifer, for a second. Just think--what if YOU honestly believed human babies are being murdered? Not just murdered, but tortured? Can you honestly say you would consider the convenience of society when deciding how to vote (or, in President Trump's case, how to rule)?Comment

And wouldn't you know--today in America, black children are aborted 3 times as much as white children. Looks like her 'dream' is coming true.Comment

Re: Just how Crazy is Donald Trump!
Sorry, I just can't stand this kind of gross misinformation.
Planned Parenthood claims that 3% of the total services that it provides to women are abortions.
These abortions are funded via private donations from wealthy donars and average people.
The moneys aren't delegated this way. Suppose someone wants money to support their heroin addiction. You don't want to support it, so you refuse. But you will support them by providing food money and rent and other expenses. That way, they can spend the rest of their money on heroin. Do you see how convoluted this logic is. Doesn't really take much to think this out.
As per the landmark Supreme Court ruling, Roe vs Wade, abortions have been legal in the USA for over 40 years.
Roe V Wade did not legalize anything. Roe V Wade made it impossible for someone to be convicted of the crime. But there are no laws allowing abortion. The supreme court cannot make laws. They cannot make something legal or illegal. Abortion has always been illegal, because murder has always been illegal.

Re: Just how Crazy is Donald Trump!
Interesting comments have been made about Saturday's failed North Korean missile launch.
Deputy National Security Adviser K.T. McFarland on Sunday declined to say whether the U.S. cyber-sabotaged North Korea’s failed missile launch, saying only that it was “a fizzle.”
“You know we can’t talk about secret intelligence and things that might have been done, covert operations,” McFarland told “Fox News Sunday.” “I really have no comment.”
Still, McFarland, a former Fox News contributor, said the failed non-nuclear missile test Sunday by the rogue nation was one of about 30 failed attempts and that cyberwar is now a big part of the geo-political landscape.
“I do think we are entering a whole new era, not just with North Korea but with everybody,” she said, amid speculation the U.S. foiled the launch with a cyber-attack.
“With any country, major country, we are entering a cyber platform, a cyber battlefield. That is where a lot of the wars of the future are going to be fought.”
Maybe the USA found a way to plant some computer code that caused the North Korea missile to explode five seconds after launch. It was both an embarrassment for North Korea and a way for the USA to demonstrate to the world some of its cyber warfare capabilities.Last edited by SalesServiceGuy; 04-17-2017, 02:21 AM.Comment

Abortion in the United States is legal, via the landmark case of Roe v. Wade. However, individual states can regulate/limit the use of abortion or create "trigger laws", which would make abortion illegal within the first and second trimesters if Roe were overturned by the US Supreme Court. Currently, 6 states have trigger laws and 3 other states have laws intending to criminalize abortion.[1]Comment
