Trump's military parade could cost up to $30 million
President Donald Trump's proposal to hold a large-scale military parade in Washington, with marching soldiers and rows of tanks and armored vehicles, could cost as much as $30 million, according to Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney.
The cost would depend on how many troops are involved and the types of military equipment chosen, Mulvaney told the House Budget Committee.
"I've seen various different costs estimates of between $10 million and $30 million, depending on the size of the parade, the scope of it, the length of it, those kind of things," Mulvaney said.Comment

Trump climate adviser resigns, past pot use blocked security clearance
White House climate adviser resigned Wednesday after failing to receive a permanent security clearance, becoming the latest member of the Trump administration to leave amid scrutiny of the background checks of presidential advisers.
Banks, who, like a collection of other White House officials, had been working on an interim security clearance, told Politico that his application was denied after he admitted to smoking marijuana in 2013. "It was an honor to serve the president at the White House, and I look forward to supporting the president in the future," he told the publication.
The White House did not respond to a request for comment.Comment

The conservative right with their view that only their ideas work and everyone else is evil, is closer to communism than anything.They crave power to force their ideas and views on everyone else. They would back any person, no matter how bad that person is, if they thought he could win and appoint a Supreme Court justice. I have actually had a Trump supporter tell me that.

And even if it was in place, the Florida shooter would have still been able to purchase a weapon. He was not on any list of the mentally unfit. Under the law as it existed before Obama-era regulation would have been sufficient had school authorities report him as mentally unstable.Comment
