President Obama was at least able to deliver budget proposals on time. They only did not get passed due to the obstruction Republican party of "No" opposing every thing Obama did during the last four years of his presidency.

The Wall is both a marginally effective and very expensive 15th century solution to America's complex southern border security problems. President Trump is intentionally causing high levels of anxiety to 800,000 undocumented DACA citizens of the USA as leverage to coerce the Democrats to agree to funding a Wall that most citizens do not want.

If DACA deportations begin on a large scale, I can not even imagine the slow moving train wreck of bad media the White House will get leading up to the 2018 mid term elections.

Trump's loyal base of 30% of Americans might stick with him but 70% of the American population will be so enraged that they will vote in droves to remove Republicans from the House and Senate in Nov 2018.

Already many experienced Republican politicians are retiring at the earliest opportunity as they know their chances of re-election are poor.

Check your facts, Obama did not always deliver a budget proposal on time and why is it that in his first four years when the Dems controlled the Senate it was not passed, it was not the just the Republicans that said NO. And why should anyone in office not say NO to many of the unconstitutional acts Obama tried to do?

The Wall would be effective, just ask Israel how theirs has worked! Anxiety to 800,000 DACA citizens? You mean 800,000 felons, that is what an illegal alien is! A citizen is someone that has entered the US legally and obtained citizenship through the prescribed process to obtain legal citizenship.

If Trump's base is only 30% he would not have won the Electoral College to win the election and the American population is not enraged that he is protecting our immigration system and our borders, quite the opposite.

Was your past heritage one of the families kicked out of Boston during the American Revolution and relocated to Nova Scotia and you just resent the USA no matter what it does? It would appear so. Why do you not just stick to Canadian politics and quit pretending that you have any understanding or US law and the American people.

Canada and the USA has the largest undefended border in the world. I myself admire and respect many of the best qualities of American ingenuity, technological skills, democratic values, peace and freedom. I worked for an American company for 20 years and traveled there often.

Canada has really no equivalent to Republican values. These values are so far right of center, it would be impossible to get elected here.

Canada has an official political party called the Conservatives that ran the country for 10 years. It bears little resemblance to the Republican party. The current Liberal gov't in power is probably more like if Bernie Sanders was President.

After Switzerland, Canada is the second best place in the world to live according to US News. Sadly the USA has declined in the past year one spot to 8th place.

American political news coverage these days seems to have declined into boasting and accusation. "I am great, you suck". A lot of accusations but no confessions.

One of the great values of this forum on Copytechnet.com is it gets people out of their information silos. If you uniquely listen to democratic or republican news sources all day and tune out all other dissenting voices, you find yourself in an echo chamber of like minded people who reinforce your own point of view.

I suspect on this forum people with strong conservative values have to read different points of view and cannot respond in complete anonymity. Anonymous forums generally tend to break down quickly into name calling and little exchange of thought.

Until Congress passes two bills, one to authorize the building of the wall and another one allocating the funding of the wall, the President cannot have construction started. Although the Republicans had the majority in both houses a number of times, they have not had 60 Senators willing to cut off a Democrat filibuster.

You need to study the U S Constitution. Majority party controls the House of Representative and what come to the floor for a vote. In the Senate it requires 60% vote to cut off debate before a bill can be brought to the floor for an up or down vote. So the minority can block any bill with the exception of an annual budget bill

During the Reagan Presidency there was an amnesty law passed. The Democrats in Congress promised to fix the border if Reagan signed the amnesty Bill. Once it was signed they promptly forgot that promise. FYI, that was more like 30 years ago.

I am starting to think that you have a mental fixation on who is going to pay for the wall. There are more ways than direct payment for Mexico to be made to pay. Also President Trump had actually stated during the campaign the it was only a starting point for negotiation. A concept that is explained in his book The Art of the Deal.
