Live and work in a large Canadian city with a few cases. Being dispatched from home and am to avoid contact with the other techs.

No football/rugby/horse racing and other sport to print fixtures for means an 85% drop in what we invoice.
If the games don't resume after the 3 of April like planed then we need to close down until further notice.

Also working the "slums" downtown areas.

Re: Are you going to work?

I live in Indiana, and I just heard on the radio that the Governor has closed ALL restaurants and bars in the entire state until further notice (carry- out will still be allowed). I seen a lot of kids playing outside today on the way to the office because schools are closed around here. I am still working out of an office that is an hours drive from my home, but I am the only one here on a regular basis. Contrary to the norm, all of a sudden working alone is not such a bad thing. 21 cases have been reported here.

Company-wide meeting this morning and business as usual for the time being, while following the social distancing guidelines and staying away from others as much as possible. Not sure how to stay from people in their offices when they call us out to fix their machines. Guess I could request they leave the room/office while I work on their machine but that would be rather awkward. Only 9 cases in the state of Kansas right now.

We have a handful of school districts that are all closed. That cuts out quite a bit of calls. But I don't think any small businesses will be closing.

Re: Are you going to work?

I personally don't have any school district accounts, so there hasn't been much change as that goes. There has been word here about closing bars and restaurants, that will affect me some. This is always the busiest time of the year with the tax accountants working night and day until 15 April. After that, I expect some slow down.

I think the biggest surprise for me was going to the grocery store last Friday to see no apples, no potatoes, no bread, no milk, no toilet paper, no paper towel.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

In IT, Maryland state account is scrambling to hand out laptops to users to telecommute.

                    No rest for us.

Lead tech on imaging/setup, etc. 24 page document click-by-click and PICTURE instructions on imaging and setting up the laptops. A fu*king 5-year old could image and set these up!

                    Fun times!

"Hacked", "Reversed-Engineered" (whatever you want to call it) the accounts TeraByte license so I can make my own imaging devices.

Have 8 devices (HDDs or USB stick) to image laptops.

Been at this for A LONG TIME to know how to do things that other people can only dream of.

Re: Are you going to work?

Here in NJ a lot of my accounts are closing and I'm ok with that. Since this Corona crap started I carry clorex wipes and wipe down the control panel every call. A copier is like a petri dish growing germs!

Thank God we have a great president that thinks outside the box and shut down travel from China early on. Unlike the last president with the Swine flu where him and Biden waited 6 months and 13,000 people died before doing anything! Never hear that from the FAKE NEWS press!

I see my post got bsm (Bull Shit Master) to crawl out from under his rock! Ha-ha still have the asshole blocked and will never read or care what he says. Can't wait until Trump is re-elected and see this punk crawl under his rock never to be seen again. Does he ever help anyone here or just spew false Dem bullshit?

Wanted to add this moron bsm thinks leaving me red reputation cards bothers me. Guess what I could care less. I help enough people here that I have plenty of good reputation to go around. Unlike this dickhead who helps NO one and only here to stir up trouble with political nonsense. Dosen't even contribute $$ to this site. No worries I have an email out to the admin and this punk is on his way out. Enjoy your last days here. And when you come back with new name we will sniff you out right away and ban that name. Nice knowing you kid! Hahahahaha

U.S. President Barack Obama waited until millions were infected and thousands were dead before declaring a public health emergency concerning swine flu, the H1N1 virus.

Still working. Techs are not required to work. You can use vacation or go unpaid. I don't want to piss away all my vacation time just yet. My production customers have said they will continue to work, so I will too ... as long as I'm healthy.
