The USA retains deadly force over the horizon military capabilities with its drone missile capability.

Sooner than later the Taliban are going to be forced to actually govern Afghanistan. The US holds significant economic aid and skills to help the Taliban govern should they reach an agreement with the USA on many issues like human rights, female rights and education.

I realize Afghanistan is a largely tribal society compromised of many different independent warlords far distant from Kabul.

Afghanistan is not likely to stabilize for many years and will do so at its own pace not on a timeline desired by US politicians.

A famous Afghan saying is that other nations may own the clock but Afghans owns the minutes.

Afghanistan does have valuable lithium and rare earth mineral deposits that the US can help extract. If not the US, China is eager to do the same.

The father of one of the Marines that was killed agrees with you.

... I am sure this father's grief is raw right now and for many more months. This father will soon be able to give President Biden his personal thoughts when the President will call him in person to listen to his words and offer condolences.

President Biden will also attend the arrival of the bodies at Dover Air Force base.

Afghanistan latest: US drone strike kills ISIS-K planner, Pentagon says

Ledyard KingJoey GarrisonTom Vanden BrookDeirdre ShesgreenMichael CollinsUSA TODAY

The U.S. military launched a drone strike against ISIS-K in retaliation for the deadly bombing at the Kabul airport, the Pentagon said Friday.

Just before the Pentagon announced the strike, the State Department issued a fresh alert, telling Americans at four Kabul airport gates to "leave immediately."

Earlier Friday, the Pentagon warned that specific, credible terrorist threats from ISIS-K to U.S. troops and civilians fleeing Afghanistan after Thursday's devastating Kabul airport attack, which killed 13 American service members and at least 169 Afghan civilians.

President Joe Biden has vowed retaliation against ISIS-K. "We will hunt you down and make you pay," he said hours after Thursday's bombing at the Kabul airport.

Details also began emerging on the 13 service members killed in Thursday's bombing near Kabul's Hamid Karzai International Airport, at least some of whom were only babies and toddlers on September 11, 2001. Evacuations of Americans and their allies restarted, an effort to get out as many civilians ahead of the military's withdrawal, just four days away.

US military strike targets ISIS-K planner

A military strike Friday targeted an ISIS-K planner in a drone attack, the first American attack on the terrorist group following Thursday's bomb attack in Kabul, the Pentagon announced.

"U.S. military forces conducted an over-the-horizon counterterrorism operation today against an ISIS-K planner," Navy Capt. Bill Urban, a Central Command spokesman, said in a statement. "The unmanned airstrike occurred in the Nangahar Province of Afghanistan. Initial indications are that we killed the target. We know of no civilian casualties."

The planner, who military officials believe was involved in planning future attacks, was killed while traveling in a vehicle with an associate, according to a U.S. official who was not authorized to speak publicly about the attack.

ISIS-K leadership generally operates in Nangarhar and Kunar provinces in Afghanistan.

Urban's reference to an unmanned airstrike indicates that the attack was conducted by a drone. On Thursday, Marine Gen. Kenneth McKenzie, the head of Central Command, said the military has been operating MQ-9 Reaper drones in Kabul for surveillance. Those unmanned planes are also armed with Hellfire missiles that can blast targets. The drones can also carry smart bombs.

The former military intelligence chief for Central Command, retired Maj. Gen. Mark Quantock, said late Friday that more attacks on ISIS-K leaders are likely if the military can "lock in the targets."

The White House referred to the Department of Defense for comment.

New State Department warning for Americans at Kabul airport

The U.S. military strike announced on Friday evening came around the same time the U.S. Embassy in Kabul issued a fresh warning urging Americans waiting at airport gates to “leave immediately” because of security threats.

A State Department spokesperson said the agency would not address intelligence matters but noted the "dynamic and volatile security situation on the ground" in Afghanistan.

The spokesman said the State Department has "no greater priority than the safety and security of U.S. citizens."
Earlier on Friday, the agency’s chief spokesman, Ned Price, said the U.S. has evacuated more than 5,000 U.S. citizens from Afghanistan since Aug. 14, when the Taliban effectively took control of the country. In all, the U.S. has evacuated more than 100,000 people from the country in the last two weeks, he said, including scores of Afghans who worked for U.S. embassy in Kabul.
That evacuation campaign has gained new urgency as the Biden administration rushes to complete its withdrawal by Aug. 31. Thousands of Afghans are also desperately seeking to flee their homeland, in including many who worked with the U.S. military as interpreters or in other roles during the 20-year war.

They kept nine ISIS-K prisoners and executed them including an ISIS-K Commander.

... the report indicates that the Taliban could align themselves with the Pakistani "Hakani" terror group aligned with the Pakistani Secret Police who generally is not a close ally of the USA.

Trump resistance is the lone catalyst and justification for corporate media framing the events at the Capitol on Jan. 6 as an "insurrection." The insurrection is the Big Lie. No one authentically believes you can overthrow the government with flagpoles, moose heads, and zip ties. The Taliban staged an insurrection in Afghanistan. Trump supporters staged an unruly, criminal protest that never reached the level of violence seen at a typical Antifa or Black Lives Matter protest.

                                Jason Whitlock Article

Bill Maher is lying. To his audience. And to himself.

He's no longer a loyal Democrat. He's anti-Trump. And his enthusiasm for Trump resistance is rapidly waning.
The liberal comedian's HBO talk show, "Real Time with Bill Maher," has turned into a weekly ray of hope for those of us praying America snaps out of its left-wing fascism revolution.

Every Friday night, it seems, Maher finds a way to trash the woke, and every Saturday morning across social media platforms, conservatives gleefully share his most recent rebuke of the left.
The latest episode of his show convinced me that Maher has been red-pilled and that former President Donald Trump is the sole reason Maher won't admit it. Trump is the only thing holding together the Democratic Party. He fig-leafs progressive insanity.

On Friday, Maher opened his panel discussion addressing the Biden administration's catastrophic handling of our withdrawal from Afghanistan. Maher trashed Trump and then declared that the former president couldn't have made a bigger mess than the current one.

Panelist Jackie Calmes, a columnist for the Los Angeles Times, vapidly responded:

That should be the slogan of the Democratic Party: "It could be worse."

To his credit, Maher pushed back and demanded that Calmes explain how things could be worse. She had no answer. She backpedaled, claiming she wasn't trying to defend the Biden administration.
The left is a house of Trump cards. Remove Trump and the progressive movement immediately collapses beneath the weight of its bulls**t. Remove Trump and the left can't defend the authoritarian actions it's taking to overhaul America's cultural norms.

Without Trump, Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg and Twitter's Jack Dorsey would be viewed as treasonous villains for their censorship of free speech. Trump resistance justifies infringement of the Constitution's First Amendment. Big Tech, especially smartphones, has too much influence over American society. On Friday, Maher ended his show explaining the negative impact of our cellular devices. Maher understands that smartphones and social media apps are disconnecting and dividing us.
