If you just watched the DND briefing about the Kabul attacks, you would have heard from the US General in Kabul that there is just no way for the Marines at the airport barriers to not get up close and personal with people trying to enter the airfield. Regretfully, this makes them vulnerable to suicide bombers.

US Forces are constantly trying to extend the airport perimeter barriers.

No US President has direct command of what happens at those gates on an hourly basis.

The US is preparing to defend against multiple other attacks over the remaining four days.

The Marines wouldn't have to "get up close and personal with people", or be "vulnerable to suicide bombers" if this administration would have followed the original plan.
They wouldn't have to "try to extend the airport perimeter" if this administration would have followed the original plan.
They wouldn't have to "defend against multiple other attacks" if this administration would have followed the original plan.
There would be 12 Marines sitting at home with their families right now, instead of blown into pieces, if this administration would have followed the original plan.

This was all preventable.

The ex President had drawn down US forces in Afghanistan to approx 2,500 soldiers when President Biden was elected.

Are you saying that President Biden should have kept those troops in country forever?

If President Biden kept US forces in Afghanistan later than Aug 31 he would have risked war with the Taliban causing even more casualties.

The entire country overwhelmingly voted to bring those troops home.
