Re: The Shining City Upon a Hill
While certainly a personal tragedy for those lives lost, the USA is finally out of Afghanistan. 1,000s of US families are grateful that their sons and daughters are out of harms way. The nation is grateful that it's forever war has come to an end.Comment

Re: The Shining City Upon a Hill
You keep repeating the same ol' line that the nation is grateful that the war is over BUT you completely ignore the fact that Biden's poll numbers took a huge hit over the chaotic withdrawal of Afghanistan where 13 marines were killed. And what happened when Biden tried to atone for the 13 dead marines? He ended up killing a bunch of innocent children.
Total shit show and our allies have expressed exactly that. You simply aren't living in reality.Adversity temporarily visits a strong man but stays with the weak for a lifetime.Comment

More than $1bn pledged for Afghanistan
The plea for global support was made at a conference in Geneva, following the Taliban's takeover last month.
The UN said the country was facing a major humanitarian crisis.
After decades of war and suffering, it was "perhaps their most perilous hour", Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said.
The poverty rate was "spiralling" and public services were close to collapse, he told the conference.
"Many people could run out of food by the end of this month just as winter approaches," he warned.
The UN has urged the Taliban to give aid workers unimpeded access.
Even before the Islamist militants retook control of Afghanistan in August, fighting had forced more than 550,000 people to flee their homes.
An estimated 3.5 million people are currently internally displaced within the country. Afghans have also had to deal with a severe drought. 40% of the country's wheat harvest has failed this year.

You keep saying that 13 dead Marines was destiny. That's laughable because Biden assured us that wasn't the case. At this point, you've become nothing more than a propaganda minister for Team Biden. You ignore what our allies have said. You ignore what some in Biden's own party have said. And you ignore the polls that reflect the American public.
