I was listening to a Bill Maher interview on CNN and he said that liberals have given white people 2 choices to choose from.

    1. You're a racist.

    or

    2. You're a racist and you don't know it.

    You know what? He's right.

... yes, I like to travel on roads and bridges that are safe and in good repair while not paying for toll highways. There is a cost to maintain these and that cost is paid for by higher user fees on gasoline.

Then you must have an idea of how liberals will tax folks who drive electric vehicles since they won't be paying a gasoline tax. Tell the good people what's behind door number 3.

Electricity costs more because of fuel needed to run those plants, costs more because of Biden.

... before you speak you should at least know what you are talking about.

The USA remains today a net exporter of oil and natural gas.

Due to long term contractual agreements, the US has chosen to be in it's current energy position.

The entire world is experiencing rising energy prices because of a rebound from pent up demand caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The global pandemic is hopefully a once in a lifetime event and eventually supply and demand will return to a more balanced state.

.. the world has to reduce it's dependence on the internal combustion engine or face and ever more powerful climate crisis like the one's that impact the USA on a regular basis.

Every year the USA pays a fortune to mitigate these environmental crisis.

Battery electric vehicles (BEVs) do not pay any gas tax, but plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) do – and both still use the roads. In the long term, as these vehicles gain market share, they will need to contribute to the maintenance of roadways. However, at present, they account for a minuscule portion of transportation funding shortfalls.

                  What EVs Already Pay

EVs do pay taxes that may support road construction and maintenance, as well as other taxes that support other goals. Since EVs generally cost more than their conventional counterparts, they pay higher sales taxes (in states with sales tax) and higher municipal excise taxes. An analysis by the Acadia Center showed that, in Massachusetts, these impacts result in EVs contributing more to state and local revenues than comparable gasoline vehicles.

An EV that costs $35,000 before rebates would pay about $93 less per year in gas taxes than a comparable conventional sedan, but $101 more in average annual excise tax over the vehicle’s lifetime – as well as $908 more in sales tax. If the EV is priced over $60,000, then the EV pays far more in sales tax and excise tax.

Unlike gasoline vehicles, EVs run on electricity. Therefore, EV drivers pay taxes on the electricity used to charge the vehicles too. Many states and municipalities have taxes on electricity, either general sales taxes or special-purpose taxes. Punitive registration fees for BEVs would be a double tax, and for PHEV drivers this would be a triple tax.

The electric companies will be making a fortune and the power grid will be stressed like never before. And solar and wind won't be able to meet the demand therefore we're likely to experience rolling blackout like California. And we'll be told that it's a small price to pay to save the planet.

Here's the difference between you and I.

You believe every word that comes out of a liberals mouth. I believe in reality. When's the last time that Biden made a promise that went according to plan?

Remember when he promised that the Afghanistan withdrawal wouldn't be like Vietnam? Then we watched the horror that ensued.

Remember when Biden promised to get covid under control. Another promise broken

Remember when he promised that inflation would only hit a few areas of the economy and be temporary?

We'll stop there but you're a fool if you believe this will go as Joe says it will. A goddamn fool.

The most dishonest thing you do is to say the word "liberals" as if it includes everyone who disagrees with you. Just because some talking head on TV says something doesn't make it true. Who cares what Maher says? He's funny sometimes, sure, but he sure doesn't speak for me.
