Had to repair the glass after holidays?

    Hi all,

Ive never heard of this happening (that i know off) but out of curiosity am interested to know if anyone has heard or had to repair a copiers platen glass after newyears/ christmas holidays?? Maybe even with a jammed paper of someones underside still stuck in the machine? Has this happened to anyone out there, is anyone stupid enough to do this? Or is it an urban myth? Look forward to replies =)

When I looked after our university libraries I had about 3-4 a year for the five years I was there. Wasn't any specific time of year and more often than not the glass would break before they got to press copy. The copiers were Konica 3035's then 3135's.

Had a Mita 1855 at church with a broken platen glass. Found out one of the teens thought it would be funny to copy his ass. For his efforts it cost him $180.00 to repair. Oh, by the way, the way he was found out.... he bloody his ass. God got him in the end. (no pun intended).

thats exactly what we would do is bill them for parts and labor everytime it happens. it usually stops after the first time.
