Had a call a couple of weeks ago. New customer was having an issue. The scan to email was not working. I ask him to show me. He presses the FAX button, direct input, then enters his email and presses start. Then looks at me as if to say "See, it doesn't work". At that moment, someone needed him and he walked away. I am sure when he came back, I still had that same, did I just see that?, look on my face.

Maybe he thought that way because the evidence was hanging by a thread.

Thankfully something similar did not happen to me. But my boss, the actual owner of the business, had something weirdly similar. He sold a fax machine to a customer way back when most faxes used thermal paper. Even said "thermal paper" on the box the rolls were packed in. He took a call for black pages from the fax machine. New customer so he went on the call himself. he got there and was kind of dumbstruck when he had the secretary send a fax and all was nice and clean and clear. Then the weirdness. Customer grabs the fax, which was rather curled, and turns to an ironing board. Yeap he put the curled fax on the board and proceeded to iron the curly paper to straighten it. And yes thermal paper does indeed turn black when you use and hot iron on it. I was so glad he was the one that took that call instead of me. I laughed my ass silly when he told me about it.

Of course there were also the customers the phone line into the "ext" plug and wondered why it would not send or receive.

Service call today. Bizhub c554e. Jamming in adf. I had just put all new rollers in it a few weeks ago. I look at the jam counter and then question the key op.

So, it's jamming in the adf?
          yes
The machine says it jammed one time today.
          Yes, that's correct
And it jammed once last Thursday.
          Yes
And 3 times 2 days before that.
          Yes, that sounds about right.
Okaaaaay, I will check it out and test it. BTW, thanks for getting me out of the shop, for a second , I thought I was going to have to work on something.

She was cool about it. Her boss called it in.

Your dog loves you more than your wife does. Want proof? Lock them both in the trunk of your car, let them out an hour later and notice which one is happy to see you.

Common sense or lack of !

A new section of road has been built near me and although not finished the main section has been opened to ease traffic. The Unfinished sections have been blocked off with water filled barriers in a pathetic effort to prevent fucking pikeys.

                              hqdefault.jpg

The pikeys turned up and removed the plug from the water filled barriers so they could move them and park their caravans.
The pikeys are only allowed to stay for a week or so and have moved on.

In their wisdom the council have placed another set of water filled barriers up.

Those water filled barriers as opposed to K-blocks are only effective if you keep a 24 hour guard on them to prevent draining and moving.
