Re: Which copier was the biggest piece of crap ever?
With your big help, I think I have been able to dissuade the the customer from acquiring an A3 PageWide MFP.
What has been your experience with HP's A3 color laser based MFPs like the E87640- 40 cpm? Pros/Cons
Thanks,Leave a comment:

Re: Which copier was the biggest piece of crap ever?
Can you expand on your discontent with the 77650? I have a new Toshiba A3 laser MFP quote to replace a very old Kyocera but the IT Administrator/ Decision maker is a HP fan and does not want to believe me that he is making a bad choice. In this case, a finisher is not required.Leave a comment:

Re: Which copier was the biggest piece of crap ever?
This week it is the HP P777 Pagewide injet A3 series. Launched buy HP two years ago to revolutionise the A3 copier market it failed spectacularly.
It only had half a brain, could never work out where the head cleaning sled was, and it didn't measure the length of the paper so it never knew when it had a paper jam.
The C/Q was awful, anybody that was "upgraded" to one was on the phone to the rep before the week was out asking for their old worn out laser back.
I notice that HP quietly stopped manufacturing them and hasn't announced a replacement.Leave a comment:

Re: Which copier was the biggest piece of crap ever?
I've worked on plenty of crap machines during my 25 years in this business. When I was a Lanier tech back in the mid 90s, there was a Panasonic in their line that was horrible to work on. I don't remember the model number. Then, when I started on the Toshiba analogs, the 1550 ate everybody's lunch. Their first attempts at digital were miserable too. I hated anything with a model number starting with DP. The e-studio line was not bad, maybe because I had gotten used to Toshibas by then. The worst thing they ever did though, was the Toshiba-Oki hybrid from Hell. The e407CS color and e477S b/w series are service nightmares. Doc feeds with cheap gears that don't mesh well, drums and fusers that never reach their expected life, and any other thing that needs to be replaced takes half a day to get to it.Leave a comment:

Re: Which copier was the biggest piece of crap ever?
as i was saying
It is so odd as I started looking at the mpc305 s to buy from my lease return supplier and asked my local dealer who i buy parts from and
the shop guy who fixes demos and stuff that comes in LOVES THAT SERIES.......
i find the 4k color toner yield a joke after the mpc300 was 8k.....how they sold them is beyond me
I was like are you sure and he confirmed he thinks it s a great box...........
I put out just a few, cheap low meter ones and if they call I will see...Leave a comment:
