    Hi Everyone!

After years of using the copytechnet as a resource for a lot of great information, I finally registered! Although I'm not an official technician, I have been working on printers for myself and others for many years. I am an electrical engineer by profession, mechanical engineer by passion, and enjoy the challenge of solving problems.

I started way back in 1999 working on dot matrix printers and eventually moved to various HP laserjet printers - the first being the HP 8150DN. After that, I was hooked on the complexities and performance of these machines and have been helping people whenever I can. I know many people with ex office machines, myself included, that need help every once in a while so I do what I can to get them going again, but I leave the business users to you professional technicians out there.

Thanks everyone for the help you didn't know you gave me in the past!

    Welcome to the forum!

If the rest of the brand areas are anything like the Konica Minolta section where I hang out, you will find a lot of willing helpers out here.
A Ricoh Service Tech for 7 year. A Konica Minolta Service Tech for 7 years. Now, KM service manager for 4 years.
My Ricoh knowledge is slowly dwindling away at this point. Many things have been lost to time...

      Welcome
You know here is right place for professionals but we accept anyone with desire to help, learn, follow instructions and manuals and more than 2 brain cells

femaster - from what I've read in the different sections/groups over the years, it looks like everyone is very helpful. I'll be hitting up the Kyocera group first as I have a Taskalfa I need some pointers on.

tsbservice - I'm sure I have at least 3 brain cells so I think I'm off to a good start. But in all seriousness, I think you said it perfectly. Be respectful. You guys are the true professionals in this industry so I'd defer to your experience and feedback any time. I like to learn new things, and if there i ever a time I can help someone, I'd be glad to (for my profession that is!)

        Thanks guys!

If all else fails read the Service Manual!

If that fails, meet me at the pub and we will discuss it.

Welcome to Copytechnet. I think you'll find that you're in good company.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
              1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
              2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
              3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
              4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
              5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate your kind welcomes and I hope that I will be able to call on some of your technical abilities to help me in the future. I dabble with the odd repair on domestic inkjet and laser printers and often need assistance. Thank you
