I hope I am welcome here!

I am not a technician. I sell copier circuit boards, although I am not here to advertise. I am strictly here to keep up to date on what's going on in the field. I don't always have a direct link to the men and women that are the true consumer. I welcome any questions anybody might have about the availability of circuit boards from my company or I can also direct you to my companys free technical support if you so desire.

You'll be very welcome. To most of us in the field, board level repair is a mystery we just don't have the time to investigate.

One of my more interesting board level non-repairs was a Canon NP-6551. It produced a door open indication. I discovered a loose leg on one of those 200+ leg chips. When I pressed the chip with my thumb, the indication went away. I had the crazy idea that I'd try to re-touch the solder joint. Then I noticed that the tip of my soldering iron is as wide as three of these miniscule legs.

It took a week to get the board. In the meantime I taped a coil spring to the back cover, to apply just a little pressure to the top surface of the chip.

Welcome. We'll be glad to hear your opinions. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

      Welcome!
A board information share will help.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

I'm cool with ya as long as you don't beg for firmware or manuals as your first post.
Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.

Hytec is authorized by more OEMs that any other circuit board repair center, so we should be good with firmware and manuals. Will you still be cool with me if I remind you about our free techncial support?

We've used your services before & been very pleased.
You'll find a pretty good knowledgebase here. There are some talented individuals here that are eager to help as long as you've made an effort to help yourself. Obviously your situation is a little different, but you get the drift.
                    Hope that helps !
