    RREE

I would like to see Joke of the day topic sticky in RREE forum. Right above all that stuff below.
As small reminder that we should laugh at ourselves more than hating each other. Vastly I consider techs here like brothers not like foes.
Aneurysm what do you think? Maybe we can make a poll where techs can vote.

TBH, I'm torn between setting up a politics zone outside of RREE or banishing political posts all together. I like politics but cut-n-paste battles aren't my cup of tea and, like you, i don't enjoy watching technicians argue about it.

We're a few weeks away being able to make changes to the forum structure here but I'm curious what others think.

It wouldn't hurt my feelings if the politics was banished altogether.

It seems so pointless for the usual participants to aggressively ignore each others arguments, and insult each other.

Joke of the Day could be it's own forum ... sticky is fine with me. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

        TBH I'm generally
?mediocre with politics but they pile up like flies on a shi* too quickly and anything posted outside sinks down to the oblivion. I like old reputation system but biased on politics it went so twisted to the point no longer acceptable.

The hard part is how to determine what is intended to be something informative as opposed to being strictly political. It might be more helpful to concentrate on the individuals are apt to turn any thread into a political one. I really DO NOT WANT to start seeing purely political cartoons on Joke of the Day.

Maybe inform those that are continuing to use RREE threads as their own personal chat rooms to either take their BS discussions to an actual chat room or risk being banned from here.

I noticed this today that threads from RREE are still showing up in Trending. One is a thread that I started a little over a year ago to post articles on the 2024 election, but it has devolved into what appears to be the main thread that the political bickering between a few members occurs in. As the originator, I give you permission to delete it. But I have they will just trend in another thread

I was as guilty as anyone, but I think you should make a separate politics subforum and another off-topic forum where we can talk about lawnmowers, screwdrivers, food or whatever with no animosity.

I Agree, The Joke of the day has been my main focus in the political form, RREE, I do not believe there should be a forum on politics and or belittling each other on such a great tech site. If they want to have a P***ing contest they should join a P***ing forum and take it there. We all have our own opinions but Opinions are like A**Holes, everyone has one.

I think for all members it's good to have one place to go and have the freedom to express their political opinions. But maybe RRAE shouldn't be that place.

To that end, I think there should be some sort of a political area in the Non-Technical Forums. I think this political area would be segregated from the rest of the other topics in that new postings would not show up in Trending, New Topics, Latest Topics, or Today's Topics. Also, this area should be for paid subscribers only. I don't think our groups points of view should be on display for the world to see. Then maybe I would probably be more apt to jump in.

I also think this area should have few rules. You wanna be jerk, be a jerk. You wanna use harsh or profane language, do it. It would be interesting to see who can use self control and who cannot. After all, we are all adults and it cannot get physical. Only words. I am old enough to have grown up with the saying "sticks and stones may brake my bones, but words can never hurt me".

I strongly believe that no matter how heated, there should be a outlet of this kind amongst our group. Like I said before, I think this area should have few rules. I will leave that to the administrators that have done a great job of running this forum.

Insofar as a name for this area, I suggest calling the political area Rant & Raves and the nonpolitical one maybe call it Everything Else. Both of these should be a the bottom of Non-Technical Forums.

                      There, that's my two cents.
