    Logging in

Hi, is it just me or does this happens to someone else? I can login to forum only on the 2nd attempt, 1st attempt never works (correct username and password). Tried different browsers and devices with the same result.

Works for me just fine. The problem I have is when I open a thread in a new tab, I need to log in again. I use MS Edge, and maybe it is a problem.

On Firefox I consistently fail the first attempt, sometimes second attempt, sometimes third attempt.

My password is long, but I have a lot of practice typing it, so I know I'm typing it in correctly. I've even tried pasting it in from a text file, and it still fails, so I know it's not me mistyping the characters. It also logs me out quicker the the previous forum setup.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

On Firefox and Duck Duck Go I use their password locker. Only need to remember the master password when launching the browser.

I honestly don't know if there is a problem with logging in, as I never have to. How quickly is it that you get logged out?

I'm signed in through both my work PC and my home PC. I've gone a couple weeks at work without coming here, and was still logged in on my next visit. At home, I've gone a month plus without popping in here, and I was still logged in there as well. Now that I'm thinking about it, I don't think I've had to log back in to the website since it changed over to the new style.

One question, does anyone else have access to your work PC? If so they have access to every site you left logged in.

That is a yes and no answer. Yes, people have access to my PC, but no, they can't log in as me.

We all have out own PCs, but we also have Domain Accounts, which are basically a roaming profile. Anybody can log in to their own account on any of the PCs, but they will only have access to their own things. So, in essence someone else could log into their own profile using my PC, but it doesn't give then access to anything of mine. Since we all have our own PCs anyway, using someone else's PC is pretty pointless. About the only time that happens is when a tech has to cover outside of their normal territory/office. They can log into their account through the PC at one of the remote offices and have access to all of their own files, logins, etc.

Somewhere between 10 and 15 minutes. A response requiring some research almost always requires me to log back in to save the response. There is no indication that I am logged out until I press SEND.

Logging in from Firefox there is a check box to keep logged in. It is saved as a site specific cookie. The only times I have to login is if I do happen to log out or something deletes all cookies. The latter is a pain because it logs me out of everything; CTN, Google, Yahoo and all social media.

It worked 1st time today, again. Maybe starting this thread wierd things happens or stopped happening.

I don't save passwords, it's hard to remember them all.

I'm in Chrome most of the time and Bing or Duck Duck occasionally for testing and haven't seen the issue as described. Try saving your password to let the browser auto-fill and see if you have the same problem. The auto-fill shouldn't have type-o issues so if it happens while setup that way, there's an issue?

What I just did is write down the password in notepad and copy it over, set username and paste password - didn't worked. Tried again, I just paste the password without copying it over again from notepad and worked 2nd time. Using mozilla. Will update if happens next time on Edge browser for example.
