Need advice on what color copier to purchase.

I only service and sell Kyocera color and I've purposefully stayed away from accounts where color quality needs to be the best of the best. I still plan on selling mostly Kyocera but I want to sell a color box where color is top end.

The next time I order machines from my wholesaler, I plan on ordering a different brand of color box to test it out. So, I need some advice on what machine to order. I have some loose guidelines:

a.) Needs to be about 4-5 years old. This is due to price.

b.) I want the best of the best color.

c.) Reliability

d.) Easy to work on.

e.) Something in the 30-40 ppm range.

Look for a Konica Minolta bizhub C454e or C554e. =^..^=

Some of the c454e's use a 20 amp plug.
The c458 is 15 amp

I'm searching the wholesaler's inventory and I don't see either of those models in stock. I do see a Bizhub C458?

C458 is the later model so if that is with in your budget I would also recommend that.

Bizhubs are easy to work on, good print quality (we sell them to real estate agents) occasionally you'll get a weird error fault but that's the same with any make.

The C458, C558, C658 is the next generation newer. Good choice.

The major difference is that the bizhub Cxx8 series uses a charge roller rather than the charge wire and grid used on the bizhub Cxx4e series.

The Cxx8 series get exactly 120K from each drum (some less), before you get the typical charge roller related image quality issues. The Cxx4e series can go sometimes 2x that yield. When you get a seemingly insoluble image quality issue on the 4e series it's time to catch up on those consumables past due (drum & developing units). They were going to have to get changed eventually anyway.

All these models are based on the "Minolta" engine used on all the mid-sized Konica Minolta devices. The "Konica" engines are used on production print devices. That's why the mid-sized and production machine have so little in common. =^..^=
