[CQ] Canon mf8350cdn ymck uniform bars across page

we have never seen this before on these machines, but sporadically the machine will print all the drum colors in solid bars in uniform sequence across the page. cannot find any information in our service manual or records. has anyone seen this before and/or know what we can do to remedy the situation. thank you

U mean like a PG 10 test print, or a Auto Gradation test Page_?

I've had a Kyocera do exactly this. It had a broken yellow developing spacer, and the yellow mag roller was shorting to the drum. Something like this?:

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I don't suppose that might be what the machine prints on the transfer belt during the automatic color density and alignment adjustments?
Probably not, those are usually bars of repeating patterns and colors.

it is more similar to the bottom set of samples on the attachment. happens only sporadically. the cartridges are all in one on these machines. going out there today will get the samples from the actual machine.

if it like the bottom one in blackcats sample pic, that could be the ends of the drums getting worn down and grounding out causing the voltage to drop, thus printing color bars of the drum that is grounding out across the page

That's exactly what we found and suspected ...the black drum unit has a gouge to the core on one of the ends ...so we suspected this maybe the culprit ...we swapped out the drum unit yesterday so lets see what happens ....thanks everyone for your help ...

we really appreciate all the input ....
