    3045 not fusing toner

I have a 3045 in the field with only 54k copies on it that is kicking my butt! When we run about 40 test patterns the toner will start wiping off the paper. We replaced the fuser unit, but that didn't change anything. If you just copy a standard letter or something without a lot of prints or images it runs fine. Any ideas?

Genuine Canon toner? Humid environment? Paper weight set correctly?

Yes OEM toner, even vacuumed out the developer and started fresh with OEM toner just in case. Not humid and yes paper weight is correct.

Far from a Canon tech but whats your line voltage when the machine is running? I had a Sharp popping low heat codes. Customers power would drop to 108 volts and neutral to ground would crank around 8 volts.

Fuser was a bloody mess inside.

NIP-CHECK and verify if it is correct. If not, the film and the pressure roller are not comming in contact. Have a look on the door closing system.

The temperature stays at about 220 during the copying process. When we did the NIP-CHECK, nothing happened at all, no NG or OK?
The door closure seems to be working properly.

A nip check will feed a sheet of paper, stop it momentarily in the fuser then feed it out. You then measure the pressure NIP.

Load paper in the stack feed. nip check will only feed from that paper source.

              Refer to the service manual.

Try raising temp. Copier/option/body/fix-temp. Range is 0-7

Like other poster mentioned look at door closure. I believe there is a lever that when door closes it puts pressure on fuser rollers. I also had to raise temp even with new fusers.

There is a white lever on the left when you open the door that applies pressure when you close the door and releases pressure when you open it. And if that was not working every copy would smear.

Thank you, increasing the temp to 7 seemed to fix the problem. We did close the white pressure lever manually before closing the door to check that, but it didn't fix anything, but raising the temp did. Thanks so much for your help.

I have had a two 2525's do the same thing. Increasing the temp was the only fix.
