    iR2020 ... For Connecticopy Kent

thanks for your time n trouble so far. one last request, if you please. i've been in the business since 83, and i'm semi retired, down to 3 or 4 customers. i don't ask for help often, last time i was able to access smarka. i was replacing fuser film on a canon
ir 2020, and mispositioned 110vac junction plate in fuser, which blew main 15a fuse. i replaced fuse, got a false exit jam when i powered up. i did a hard reset, to no avail. i then repl fuser exit sensor, thinking it was close to the short circuit. i don't have manual, and i'm sure i'm not the first to do this. copier has been down since sept 4. i've reregistered twice, w ith no email sent to alllow me to post here. i've sent aneurysm 2 private messages, no answer. only other forum i can find is asay's "the copier network", which is not as active as this. would you please post this for me? it's asking a lot from out of the blue, but desperate times....what else can i do? thanks again for your time

    Can anybody help this gentleman?
Sorry that I can't help personally. I haven't worked on Canons regularly since ~2005. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: iR2020 ... For Connecticopy Kent

his error may have sent 110VAC to the DC controller (or whatever canon calls it) - a direct AC short to ground could not do such a thing and could not result in a phantom jam

i would also check for any pinched harness cables relating to the egg-sit sensor - perhaps the fuser unit is pinching the harness

    from the service manual:
14.15.7 Function test ((6) FUNCTION TEST)
    0011-0890 iR2016J / iR2016 / iR2020 / / iR2016i / iR2020i
    Function test ((6) FUNCTION TEST)
Press the numeric keypad key 6 on the test mode menu to select the function test.
Press numeric keypad keys 1 and 3 to 9 during the function test to enter the menus listed below.
    T-14-28
    G3 signal transmission test (6-1: G3 480 bps Tx)
Press numeric keypad key 1 on the FUNCTION TEST menu to select the G3 signal transmission test. This test transmits 4800-bps G3 signals from the telephone
    line connection terminal and speaker.

    Sensor test (6-3: SENSOR)
This mode is used to verify the status of the unit sensors from LCD indications. Press numeric keypad key 3 on the FUNCTION TEST menu to select the sensor
test. LCD indications change as the associated sensors turn on and off.
