      Hi denvertan
      Strange combination of numbers.
With the MN-Cont 31 the dc con is the version 13 and not 8.
Try to install first the last official release, 56.08, and the retry to install this special version.

Tried without luck. I have a IRA4245i work perfectly with the update.
But this IRAC5235i cannot even see the official release at all.

Just add SMB ver 1.0 feature back into the computer if it doesn't work for some reason. None of my C50 or C52 have trouble with SMB.
I have used Canon Imagerunner parts for sale. Most are floor model Color and / Advances Imagerunner with some 3025 3235 parts. Several intact machines being parted.

^^^If you do this, make sure you notify your customer that their computer will be vulnerable to ransomware attacks. Another option would be scan to email or to set up scan with ftp using Filezilla or similar software.

Yes and since then....How to Stop SMBv1 Ransomware Attacks - SpamTitan The flaw has been patched and buried, buried for years now and one can simply add the feature when needed. I don't work at the NSA but i really dont think those old tools are going to make it past the patches anymore. I could be wrong!

^^^ Good to know. I was under the impression that SMB 1.0 was still a possible security vulnerability. There are a lot of articles on the internet that say's it is, but it's hard to know what's true and what's opinion.

I've been trying not to enable it on my customers computers unless they absolutely must have SMB scanning on an older machine and they know the risk.

Are you absolutely sure SMB 1.0 isn't a problem anymore? That would be great news to customers with older machines!

SMB v1 is definitely still an issue hence Microsoft bringing out an update to disable it. This wasn't a temporary fix but permanent.

All copiers from about 5 years old & newer have had a firmware release fix to enable SMB v2/3

                            That's what I thought.

Do the new firmware versions for those machines automatically come with SMB 2/3 and it just needs to be enabled, or do I still need to download the "special" firmware that needs a code and password like mentioned a few posts above?
