Canon iR2018 optics motor wont work correctly

The copier (Canon iR2018 ) turns on ok, but the scanner moves a little, then makes a BBBRRRRRR sound as if something were blocking the movement of the scanner carriage, machine goes to ready without error and can make prints but no copies, I have disasembled the scanner to see what is blocking the carriage but there's nothig there, I have taken the scanner motor out (but connected) to see if it turns correctly on its own and you can see it tries to turn both directions at the same time so the noise comes from that.

Other sympom is that the scanner lamp never turns on.

I havent tried another motor or board as I have no other machine of the same family (2016, 2018, 2020) to try that.

Have you had one doing this?

never worked on that model, but yes it happened frequently

sometimes it frys the motor control bd also. so it may not send proper signal to the lamp to light,

any error codes?

No error codes at all, the displays says Ready"

Does error log not show them? Or just op panel?

Check out FK2-5356-000 POWER SUPPLY ASS'Y.
As others on this forum solved such a problem.
CANON IR 2018 no copy but self print okay
Maybe later Canon guru teckat can shed some light also.
