Here is the one that is trying to eat my brain...
All is well when the machine is first powered up. After a few minutes (5-20) the smb scanning goes down. The ability to browse the domain also drops out. The addresses are by IP, so name resolution and master browser access shouldn't stop my scans, but in this case when you can't browse, you can't smb scan. Printing to the unit seems to force the drop off to happen faster than if it were just left alone and scanned from. RUI access in unaffected and printing as well. Two other points of interest: If I hook up to my laptop with a crossover and try to browse to it the op panel locks and machine has to be cycled and the machine will not accept an RCON flash. Replaced Reader PCB and Main PCB, as well as performing MMI an MN clears. Network card is the next step for me. Also tried to find online training for the hardware side for this model so the I could access Canon hardware support, so I wonder if anyone knows the specifics on this. I don't even see a classroom course. The software/network side that I deal with has punted this off as a hardware problem, which it probably is, but I don't have the cert to open this as a hardware ticket. If the network card doesn't do the trick I'll want a Canon field rep just for customer relations and perception, if nothing else.
I am an authorized Canon tech and we are a Canon dealer. Just no hardware cert on this model. I am primarily IT and no model specific certs are needed to work with the national support center. This problem is drifting from IT to hardware...
Thanks for reading about my problem...
