    DX C5840i

    IMG_0990.jpg

I was able to get a hold of a DX C5840 with very low mileage 87K B&W 24K Colour. The liquidator I purchased it from said it did not have any toner cartridges in it but for the price I wasn't bothered. I purchased a new set of CEXV58 Original Canon cartridges and installed them, booted up the machine and got this message:

OK I searched service mode and could not find any setting in there which would clear this.

Looking for some help in resolving this problem as it will be going to my church when fixed.

    Thanks,

    Larry

If all else fails read the Service Manual!

If that fails, meet me at the pub and we will discuss it.

The C-EXV 51 toners fit the DX C5800 series ?

Thought they were for C5500 Series only.

Thank you Bob, I will give that a try.

I shut down the machine, Unpluged it , removed the toner cartridges, waited 10 minutes, toggled the power switch a few times, pluged it back in, booted it up without the toner cartridges and waited until it asked to install the cartridges. I did so and all came up normal. So problem resolved the old fashion way

same model, Canon Ir adv c5840i, brand new, right out the box. came without the 1st delivery tray / exit tray and every time i copy it says paper jam error or something. I have to go and program the machine to tray 2 for it work. Question, Can the copier without the delivery tray 1 will give that error always or is it missing the flag lever from the exit assy?

You should start a new thread instead of taking over this thread. You will get more responses that way.
