    irC2880 Black Lines

    Hi,
I haven’t used my printer in a while, and I’m getting black lines across my prints—1 to 3 lines—that disappear after running a cleaning cycle in the printer settings, but come back after a few prints.
    What could be causing this?

The orientation of the lines is strange because they’re vertical, and I’m printing in portrait format.
If they were horizontal, I would have thought the cleaning blade on the black toner might be damaged in one spot, but here it’s the other direction, and the lines never appear in the same place.
If you have any ideas or suggestions for what to check, I’d really appreciate it.
    Thanks in advance.

Check your ITB and ITB Cleaner. Stop a print in mid cycle and check the ITB.

If all else fails read the Service Manual!

If that fails, meet me at the pub and we will discuss it.

I would bet that all the cleaning blades have hardened and you will have streaking problems from lack of use and age. Good Luck.

From your example you need to replace the transfer cleaning unit.

Very simple to fit, lift out the ITB the cleaning unit comes off with two screws.

Part number you need is FM2-5523-000
