    [CQ] Canon c5235 Registration

    Hello Again

Today I received a machine that has a bad registration, the color are not synchronized.

    I have tried changing
    - main controller 1
    - laser units (both)
    - main controller 2
    - ITB

SL1 is tested and patch has been cleaned (not changed)

    What else can it be?

Please your help will be appreciated.

    Thank you In advance

Try to re-entry the values in the birth certificate found in the inside of the front door and do gradation adjustment

verify the drum units are seated properly, front side could not be in far enough and that could cause that

I must say that grid test comes with different separations of color. To make that more clear, in the upper part of the page the colors have a 5 mm separation but in the end of the page the colors match. What could it be?

That's weird if it match in one side it should match on the other... Can you upload a scan from the PG10 test page? And are you printing SEF or LEF?

                Try launching these service modes

                Lerv2 COPIER > FUNCTION > LASER > LD-ADJ-Y M C K

                Lev1 COPIER > FUNCTION > MISC-P > AT-IMG-X

Hello, if you can send a photo of test 6 and test 10.
check the drums if it is original or compatible, if the drum is original, check the transfer unit, perform its maintenance, after performing the maintenance on the itb, perform init itb and atx-img in service mode

If making the adjustments in the service mode and the failure continues, enter the service mode again and in adjust-regist, set everything to zero and click ok, turn the machine off and on. then to try....

Try running REG CLR in service mode level 2.
                      Copier > Function > Clear > REG-CLR.

Also check the patch sensor cover is moving freely, or simply remove it.

to clarify: the gaps/issue is at the bottom of the page, so from the front of the copier?

if its recently received...my guess would be drums, itb, or a bent frame but you have already replaced the itb assy.

do the color lines on the grid crisscross in any way or just shows up separate?

Is the patch sensor shutter actually moving? The solenoid actuates but the shutter can stick
due to the plastic nipple breaking off.

Hello again with everyone. It turned out the problem was the HDD. We changed it again with a working one and it worked fine. Physically everything recommended was ok

Interesting, never see an HDD cause a print registration issues on a Canon.
