    CLC 900 Troubles

I have been given a Canon CLC900. Originaly it was giving us an E000 code which we have now reset. All is good with the fuser, everything is warming up. I have a friend that use to work for Canon many years ago helping me with this. What is happening now is after the machine has warmed up the power goes off. If you leave the doors open the machine keeps running and asks us to close the doors. Once the doors are closed the machine turns off. No error codes. My friend is a bit stumped and due to a lack of documentation on the machine we are at a bit of a standstill.

Anyone have any ideas on what is going on? Its as if its completing the warm up stage, then going to another process that is overloading something. Like a power supply or motor issue? Something that obvously draws a bit of AC current.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check the heater lamps and also the thermoswitch.

Have a close look at the two front door AC switches. Take them apart and clean them, the contacts get burned and load down the AC.

Looking at the front of the machine, one switch is in the middle of the machine, up high were the doors meet. The other is way over on the left, down low near the bottom left corner of the left door.

Then take apart and clean relay RL1. Take the back cover off the machine. Starting from the center it's at the 5:00 position about halfway to the outside, or there about.

Those switches and relay are a constant problem, causing the machine to shut off by itself.

I presume you mean the sensor switches to determine if the doors are open. These switches are optical and test OK.

Ive found a relay with 8 wires going to it, dismanteled and cleaned. Still have same fault. Any other ideas?

After reseting the E000 in the service menu we havnt see an error since.

Just shuts off after its warmed up. Takes a good min for it to warm up. It has reported that it is cleaning wires a couple of times then says please wait, then pop. Now that it is warmed up it pops prety quickly how ever if the doors are open it doesnt. Thats how im able to get in to service mode.

i have just noticed soemthing else. The big weight/wheel at the back. Now that the machine is warmed up, I turn it back on, the wheel starts moving, then hesitates then pop, the power goes off.

                      AC Power Door Switch??

The door switch's are optical DC sensors, or am I missing something here.

Im Blind, Yes there is an AC switch next to the Optical Sensor.

Ill clean and let you all know how it goes.

Ok the right one only apears to be an optical one. The Left (or centre) one has both optical and ac switch. Pulled apart the AC switch. It was badly burnt. Ive cleaned it all up and tested but fault remains.

                            CLC 900 Troubles SOLVED

Thanks guys. I found another AC switch in the unit to the far left. It was in good nick. Swapped it arround with the one in the centre and got new error. Paper Jam 23 wich is at the pickup end. Have removed Jam and it now prints. Not very nicely at all, infact I recived an E020 but my friend who use to work for canon is now going to come in and service it. So hopefully all will be good.

Thanks for all of your help.
