Just the SST alone that you need??? What about Firmware??? They usually came as a pair. Are you a tech?......OR a model?

First off- u need to post the entire E677 CODE - xxxx
What are the four sub-numbers/ very important with this code !!

1.Next Check your Cable connection between the Image Pass C1 and the Printer
                2. Turn off Printer/Open back of Printer/ Remove Open interface cable/ Remove Open Interface PCB (Two small screws on either side of Cable)/ Carefully Clean the contact slot edges on Pcb./ Firmly Re-Seat Pcb back in slot>replace two screws>replace cable. Also check the cable end on C1 side> must sit firmly.

Are u using PCL or PS driver ??
When does the Error appear > ? On Power Up ? > Printing ?
What is the Firmware ver on C1 ? Print out a P Print / User Data Print to view
What is Firmware ver on Printer ??

"You have to learn how load firmware"

You need to have a tech check it out.

You have to many things going on with this equipment.

And since you don't know what components are what, Its best to have a tech just to look at it and tell what the problem might be.

Your getting these machines from who knows who.

There might be missing hardware, and only someone with experience can identify this.

What? I know what each component is, and there is no missing hardware. I have had my first 3200 for 4 years and fixed every problem so far, I have the service manual that identifies everything, and have changed out many parts. yes this problem with communication is a little more difficult thats why I joined this site. I agree and I may have service come. But this is not Rocket science by far, just takes a little research and the right tools. This machine I just purchased was from a Xerox facility that closed it only has 38K on it, and my other machine has 550K thats why I want to switch over.

                        Canon 3200 print controller

                        Hello Teckat,

                        Im using the PCL driver
the error shows when printer is booting up and going into setup mode.
The C1 I am using is from my other machine, They took the HDD out of the C1 from the new machine, guess they were protecting national secrets.
I can only P Print the firmware on the printer. Which category shows firmware?
I could connect the C1 back to the 3200 I know it works with to P Print the version of the C1.

P-Prints will print out on any image Runner/- the C1 does not have to be functioning to show it's ver. on P-Print out.

what do u mean about removing HDD from the C1 ??-

E677-0010= u may have an old ver. of firmware on the 3200 that u moved the C1 over to / to explain further> if the C1 has ver.2.0 or 2.2.1 and u move it to a 3200 that has old firmware you can have this error

***The firmware on the iR3200 must be at least v55.04 or Later for the C1 V2.0 to Function Properly

please explain what exactly are u doing/or what you are trying to do-

the 3200 needs a C Boot Rom & Interface Pcb to function with the C1
                            Copier > Option > Int-Face > IMG-CONT> set to "3"

Give your laptop an ip address of 10.255.255.1 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. Disconnect the crossover cable from the imagePASS and connect it to your laptop's network interface. Your laptop will now be connected to the copier via the crossover cable. Try to ping the copier's ip address (10.255.255.2). If you get successful replies, the problem is most likely on the imagePASS side. If the copier fails to reply, the problem is most likely on the copier side.

Sooo, you want to use the C1 on the machine that has 38K. Did you change the IMG-CONT setting .
It can be found in Service Mode under COPIER > OPTION > INT-FACE > IMG-CONT.

1)Or did you do this yet on the machine that has 38k?

So there are two C1's in the picture.... For what ever reason they took the HDD, who cares. If the C1 that has no HDD is the same device as the one that you have that works, it should work on the machine.

2)What's the version on the C1 that works???

3)Have you Printed out that P-print from that new machine you have?

4)Did you check the firmware version and bootrom??

                              Answer these four ?
