    Canon iR2016 Printing problem

    Hi Freinds,

My canon iR2016N machine is not printing properly. Also it is not showing Toner Low error on the control panel. But I am not able to understand that if I give a print command, it comes properly & fine. But xerox [copy] of any document is not coming properly. It is printing very light on the left side of the paper. It is happending while xeroxing of the document, not for printing. Please help me what could be the reasong and solution.

    Thanks in advance..

Thanks very much for your reply pinkia
But this problem is not with Glass. This was already done before putting this query to here. I think it could be other issue. therefore if you can help me in this regards & resolve the issue, it will be pleasure for me.

        Thanks

If your prints look o.k. and your copies do not, it is not in the print engine, but in the scanner section. I looked in the manual, and I can not find where you would run something like CCD Adjust, like you would in the real copiers. That is why I don't like working on these overgrown fax machines... Too hard to find your way around the system software.

Does the problem occur when using the ADF AND when putting original on glass? Have you cleaned the scanner and pickup lens? You may also be able to adjust the scan image density in the service mode.

                Dear jsw2k

As you said to adjust the density, i have already made it on full dark [Last]. But still it is giving the problem while taking a copy of document only, not for printing from comp. Also I would like inform you that this machine do not have ADF. This is happening when the paper putting on orginal glass. Now I am requesting you to understand the problem and help me. Also I am reuqetsing you to instruct me how to clean SCANNER and PICKUP lens. So please tell me how to do it. I will do it my sefl as I am doing all maintance or serviing of this machie at my end only with the help of Copytech.

                Thanks in adavnce.

                Waiting for your reply.

I have to agree with MrFixIt that your problem is with the scanning. The scanner is the carriage that moves from left to right, with the bright bulb in it. The lens is right there with it. Sometimes dust accumulates on these parts and affects the quality.

But I must say that you should be very careful; these things are somewhat delicate and if you don't know what you're doing, you can muck things up pretty good.

Failing these, I'm at a loss for what's causing your problems. I would like to see the scan.

                      Thanks..and good luck!

clean your optics take small cover holding copy glass and remove copy glass and carefully clean around scanner unit under copyglass, might have picked up dust.

                              and also clean underside copyglass
