    Thanks Canuck.

Unethical. It's just unethical to reset counters. You deserve your counter related errors if you are trying to bilk the cutomer into thinking the machine is new, or only slightly used.

How would you like to buy a copier with 2.5 million copies, that the counter says 125K? I know that I would be PISSED!
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Well, its your own fault for giving these foreigners the information on how to reset the counters!
Somebody asks on their one and only post and then some moron comes along and posts it.

I also can not think of a legitimate reason for resetting the counter, those that are most likely wish to commit fraud.

I don't think it would work with newer iR's anyway as they are designed to avoid exactly that situation. The counter is duplicated between the counter pcb and the main controller. If you swap just the counter pcb it copies the count info to the new board, and vice verse if you swap the main board it gets copied from the counter pcb, if you swap both boards you get an error.
No, I will not send you Manuals, Software or your own little repair Genie to fix all your problems for you.

Hello , resetting the counter can be done d , using the SST software and a special file that we re-write the counter board data. That special file is also a *.upd file that run compatible on SST.Just throw into the machine it`s under SYSTEM v43.01.

So far as I'm aware there are only chip resetters availabe for Oce,KM and Ricoh.
There are no resetters available for Canon boxes to the best of my knowledge.

Resetting counters? Where are your ethics? The biggest reason to RESET a counter is to deceive. You can always find a way to compensate for variances. Bad Karma. Nothing good will come of it.
