That might seem like a good idea and I've know tech who would use weather foam, but there is a newer type inner door assy as well and it works rather well when you replace the right lower door with it. To me the foam idea is a band aid, after a while the foam gets crease and the tension is compromised. Its best to stick with the mods that canon suggests.

When you re-fit the fixing unit on the IR6880C machine's you can catch the delivery sensor which then indicates a jam. Easy to miss....... Then start head scratching because it is indicating a jam.

Oh my god! Wish I hadn't bothered. When you are replacing the fixing unit on the IR5880/6880Ci machine's it is very easy to catch the sensors as you are putting the fixing unit back in the machine. This has happened to me a few times and to other Engineers in the UK. It is quite a common mistake and easy to miss.

Is this a tip. I'm aware of this however. Your effort is appreciated though.

                      Thanks.

I thought I'd pass this along. Had a call today for an E202 on an ir5570. It would turn on and work 1 out of 3 tries. What I found was the gear/shaft (item #125) was sticking. I couldn't tell until I took it apart but there was either pop, coffee, or glue on the shaft and on the frame, which made the gear very hard to turn. Cleaned it off and put it back together and it worked fine. I don't expect this will be common issue, more likely a one-hit-wonder, but just thought I'd share it here.

You can also check the inverter pcb and the heater for the lamp.

                              Chances are its the lamp..

After you replace the lamp be sure to perform a
