canon clc 1140 transfer issues on heavy and extra heavy stock

I have a Canon CLC 1140 color copier that prints plain paper perfectly. When I select heavy stock the machine jams the paper separation claw through the transfer drum sheet and into the connecting plate (the part the transfer drum sheet adheres to) on the transfer drum assembly. On extra heavy stock the paper/stock never adheres to the transfer drum sheet as if there isn't enough charge to hold the sheet to it. Any ideas of where to troubleshoot from? I have already set all adjustments back to factory defaults from the spec sheet inside the front door with no success.

dis re guard those settings. because your reg paper is ok-if u had no attraction, I guess u know about that
HVT cable inside the transfer drum (FH2-9069-060)
    craps out.

also check that your ATT BRUSH & TRANS BLD UNITS in Transdrum have that small tension spring attached to back of their metal rail plates/
first>remove and or replace the outside sep corona unit that sits top of trans frame unit / it is probable arching
    set your copier>adj>misc>ATT-RTN 1 to 1
    ATT-RTN 2 to 1
ATT-T1 > set at +2 / you may have to play with this setting depending on enviorment -it is for thick paper

******u can only run heavy out of the MF Tray !!!!!!!!!

What's the paper weight of that card stock? I believe you have up to 100lb
If the media is too the heavy, the static charge is not gonna hold that sheet againist that transfer drum it will fall off. Remember the paper must bend and wrap againist the transfer drum. The transfer drum rotates four times for each color to be transfered, if the paper is to heavy as i said it will fall off.
Also as teckat mention, surely your using the bybass.

Also depending on the grain of the stock, if it is not legal or ledger, try running it ltr-r orientation to see if that adheres better.

I am using the bypass/MF tray. long story short the machine has run hundreds if not thousands of heat transfer sheets. This is the stock I need to run. However I have tried to run plain paper and light or heavy cardstock as well and nothing attaches on the extra heavy setting. and the sep claw digs in on the heavy setting. And this happens regardless of paper stock , grain, or orientation. I am working on this machine now after a non-canon or color copier trained technician messed it up. I was lucky to get it all back together and working. The previous tech reset all the adjustment settings back to factory. I was thinking this might be part of the issue i am dealing with. I will attempt the adjustments teckat suggests and get back to you all. Thanks very much for the suggestions.
