[CQ] Canon clc1120 streaking oil - oil blade & ufr have already been changed

    Hello Everyone

I have a client with a Canon CLC1120 which is streaking oil so I replaced the oil cleaning blade for the Upper Fusing Roller and the Upper fusing Roller. It continues to streak oil so I'm hope someone with experience on this older model can help me.

The very 1st. copy is stained on the leading edge and the 2nd. and 3rd. copies contain less oil but after 10 to 15 copies only a faint amount of oil can be noticed. Please notice the samples I have scanned.

Thanks for any help or input

Its been a while since I've work on these
Remove and inspect the Oil Apply Assembly for any loose screws or deformed scraper blades. Rebuild or replace the Oil Apply Assembly. FG6-0856-000

Also replace the felt pad(FELT, OIL APPLY-FB4-4535-000). This pad absorbs a lot of that oil. This will probably fix that.

I think if you change the felt pad you'll would be fine.

u need to see if the web is turning/ make sure the sponge roller on underside of webs is not saturated with oil
          also check that lower web

+ u need to adjust the nip width / especially if u are not using OEM rollers

Easy way to lubricating the fuser oil pad.

          1. Leave oil pad in plastic bag after removing it from the box .
          2. Position oil pad and bag over a trash can.
          3. Pour silicone oil into the bag about 1/4 full.
          4. Massage silicone oil into the pad through the bag.
          5. Pour more oil into the bag if necessary.
          6. Remove oil pad from bag as close to the fuser assembly as possible. (Oil pad will be saturated with oil and will drip)
          7. Install pad back into assembly.

I did replace the felt pad but it did not correct the oil streak. So I when ahead and replaced the Web pressure rollers for the upper and lower fusing rollers because they were completeley saturated with oil. Thanks for your help.

              Really

Really, I would have thought that would cause streaking.

I did confirm both webs are turning and noted that the sponge rollers were really saturated with oil so I changed them that corrected the streaking.

Only now I get small oil spots on the trailing edge of the copy so I'm thinking the Pdf. you posted may correct that problem. What do you think?

I just only saw the attachment don't know how I did not see it before.

Thanks for your help and SCREWTAPE you guys are great.

                Check Mark.jpg

                another point /
I had customers using the wrong oil in 1120/1140 printers- it was too light & just poured thru & saturated everything in that model/ never found out what type was used or saw empty bottle/ they bought it on the side because oil was not included in contracts/ they paid for the clean up each time= finally learned a lesson

also a poor nip width will cause oil spots/ check that out/ especially when u don't change both fuser rollers at the same time & they are not OEM
