    Lamp

Exposure lamp does not light. It could be: Fluorescent Exposure Lamp or Lamp Heater (part of the same assembly), Lamp Inverter, or Lamp Harnass (in that order of likelyhood).

When you turn on the copier watch the exposure lamp. It should light up at some point during initialization. If it does not light, lights slowly or late, flickers, or does not produce an even amount of light over the length of the lamp it will error out.

To determine of it is lighting slowly, late, or flickers, the lamp may be turned on in service mode and observed.

I always replace a fluorescent or xenon lamp and the inverter as a set. Good Luck.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

      thank you so much!

You were right on the money, the lamp did not come on on the ir105.

It's a similar build. The same advice holds true. =^..^=

I am having this same problem, and do not care about scanning or copying right now.

Is there a way to "bypass" it until a tech gets out here so I can send print jobs to the machine through my network?

            I tried *28*, Funtion>Clear>Err, but it doesn't work.

            Thanks

you need a good lamp in the machine for it to be work.
a machine is only as good as your tech : source:screwtape ; the scary one

I agree with davidj7,, the copier has a routine it has to go through upon starting up, there is simply no way to avoid it.

2 photoreceptor in the scan lamp there, just blow it. then close it back.
