Re: Canon IR 5000 Hard Disk Clone - Help Required
It's not easy to use SST if you have harddisks types not registered in the SST.
The easiest way is harddisk cloning, you can use any harddisk, any size, as long as you make the exact copy of the partitions.Comment

Re: Canon IR 5000 Hard Disk Clone - Help Required
Off course, but both are not available and no one can share with me, possibly due to share restrictions. So I have to solve my problem through cloning.
Thank you very much, really valuable information you have sharedComment

Re: Canon IR 5000 Hard Disk Clone - Help Required
I have read many posts on above topic but don't able to solve my problem
I have two Canon IR 5000 Photocopiers, one of the Hard Disk is physically damaged, both HDs were 20 GB each.
Now the only disk available work on both the machines, I have a 80 GB Branch New Disk, I have tried Norton Ghost, Acronis and Paragon Partition Manager to clone HD.
Machine starts, Canon logo displayed and half of progress bars fills then an error displayed, I have gone through the error details its suggests problem in HD
Please help me which software may I use to clone the only HD for use at other machine.
Thanks

Re: Canon IR 5000 Hard Disk Clone - Help Required
This may not be helpful, but try setting jumper on the new blank HDD to slave when writing the image. Then set it to cable select or master when installing in the copier. Also if using Paragon try checking the box next to "Copy and resize partitions proportiinally".
I would say this has worked for me, but that would be incriminating wouldn't it?Comment

Re: Canon IR 5000 Hard Disk Clone - Help Required
Better use External USB to IDE cables to avoid jumper settings problems.
I've done this many times and good results.
The destination HDD must be equal or bigger size than the source HDD.Comment

Re: Canon IR 5000 Hard Disk Clone - Help Required
Hi,
I own a CLC3200 and I want to clone the HD. I bought the SST v.4.11E . Now, how shall I connect the PC to the CLC ? Do I need a crossed ethernet cable and connect it to the ethernet port. Or, is there any USB socket ?
Tks for any reply.Comment

Re: Canon IR 5000 Hard Disk Clone - Help Required
You cannot clone a HDD using SST, you must use HD Clone software like HD Clone from Miray software AG.
Take out the HDD from the CLC, hooked up in a PC and clone the HDD.Comment
