[CQ] Canon IR3300i leaving smudging only on LTR and 11x17 off the glass

I have a Canon IR3300i model which leaves a smudge mark or band about 1 inch wide and 10 inches long. It leaves it on LTR and 11x17 sizes only off the glass. Works fine when printing and through the feeder. Tried cleaning the mirrors and all optics. must be missing something.

When using the ADF, the document is center referenced. Off the glass, the document is referenced to the upper left hand corner of the glass. Thus, the copies made off the glass use different pixels off the CCD than through the ADF.

Check the door specs settings for ADJ_XY in service mode under ADJUST. Someone could have changed them. If those adjustments are correct, the next thing I would do is check horizontal registration. If that is correct, the next thing to do is to change the CCD. I am assuming that you have thoroughly cleaned the optics and the CCD.

I have clean thoroughly. When I clean them the smudge changes sometimes it's better and sometimes it's worse. Not sure if it's my cleaning or me shutting the machine off and on that's making it change. The change isn't really significant though. Thanks for the advice I will try those things next.
