Separation jams will be frequent if the corona current output to the transfer/separation charging assembly is stopped because of an over current.
No warning will be issued to the control panel in response to this condition; if separation jams are frequent, check the relevant mechanism.

If an over current flows into the separation/pre-transfer charging assembly, the high-voltage
transformer stop signal (HVTOFF) is generated to
cut off the corona current (DC/AC component)
    temporarily to the pre-transfer/separation charging
    assembly.
When the HVOFF signal is generated, the
copier continues to operate; application of the
corona current will be resumed once the application
    voltage returns to normal.

    check Pre-Transfer & Separation

As many as 17 sensors are used to monitor the movement of copy paper

      What is the jam code?

In service mode *1* tab 5/9, this shows the last nine jam codes in the body of the machine.

Can you describe the type of jam? Z-fold? curled on drum?

Check pre transfer and seperation current from the secondary HVT,try to disconnect the cable entering pot labelled Q on the secondary HVT,for possible leakage, ensure that connections to the main HVT are ok.

tq, sometime Z-fold, sometime curled on drum. No jam code appear on the panel. i suspect problem with the over current to the corona wire.

                Re: Canon np6050

I still don't know what the original jam code is. There's really nothing to talk about until that little bit of information comes to light.l =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Try to replace PRE TRANSFER corona unit. It could cause those jams too.

Over current protection starts from your OUTLET-
If the Printer is not on it's own dedicated supply line, you can experience fluctuation in voltage.

Power disturbances may be called a surge, sag, spike, swell, transient, fluctuation, interruption, or electrical line noise. All these disturbances are abnormalities and deviations from the normal performance of voltage sources. They may last for a short period, a long time, or be continuous.

This all depends on your country standards & regulations.

You never know what or who is using/overloading that source outlet until u contact building electrician

Basic Surge Protection- those inexpensive "surge protected power strips" are a waste if u have constant up & down power surges at your location

                      AUTOMATIC VOLTAGE REGULATORS
--automatically increases low utility power and decreases high utility power to a consistent and safe 110/120 volts. If incoming utility voltage drops below 90 volts, or exceeds 140 volts the units automatically switch to battery back-up power.
