Re: ir3570 ethernet connectivity
I had two IR 3225's that had print kits installed. However one never mentioned to check the network connection. It turned out that it simply wasn't enabled. I had to go into some mode and just turn it on and magically there it was. It was months ago and I can't remember exactly what I did. It might be that simple.Comment

Re: ir3570 ethernet connectivity
I have been struggling with this also. A client of mine acquired a used ir3570 for a great price. The previous owner said it was a printer but I think it was only used for Copy and Fax. I have been trying to verify that the printer kit is installed but with not much luck. I checked inside the panel based on a earlier posting from teckat, very good information by the way. The ir3570 has 512 of ram, 20gb hard drive and the boot rom has the following information
FM2-3117 01
J1010 - Type A
version 03.30
I know this doesn't indicate if 'N' or 'C'. I have been unable to get to the screens on the panel that will give me the configuration information. I am able to enter an IP address and ping from a network desktop to the ir3570 and back to the desktop from the ir3570.
When installing the drivers on Windows 7 they install and find the ir3570 with the correct IP address on their own (whether using DHCP or Static doesn't make any difference). I have also tried all three (3) drivers available. All seems OK except no 'test page' prints, eventually gives error message on the Win printer window but no message id. The ir3570 doesn't indicate that it even received the print job. The UI from the desktop connects to the printer and I am able to view various information from that but can't tell if the 'N' or 'C' boot rom is installed. By the way no MEAP software installed on the ir3570 either. I am new to Canon copiers/printers of this size.
Thanks for any help you can give.Comment

Re: ir3570 ethernet connectivity
I remember this. Disconnect the cat 5 cable. If you turn it on and it doesn't say "ethernet not connected" or something similar to that in the main display the network might be turned off. I can't recall exactly what I did, but I simply "enabled" network printing in some menu. The stuff was in there, but wasn't enabled. It's in the menu's on the display somewhere.Comment

Re: ir3570 ethernet connectivity
Thank you. I have tried the UFR printer driver. The Windows system connects. I can ping both ways. When I print a test page it doesn't seem to receive it on the ir3570. Monitor indicates not print jobs and eventually the Windows printer window indicates some sort of error, just not what the error is.
Thanks,
u probably have already see this/ I repeat things out of habit
reminder>>>
If the copier is version 32.02 or higher system software, then Network ScanGear can be used WITHOUT having the Printer Kit installed.

- You also talked of your BOOTROM version as 3.03, without the 'N' or 'C' being specified. To eliminate any doubt I would try to replace this with a known working 'N' version.
- Ensure proper contacts at the connection terminals. Try another crossover cable. These could be simple or minor steps, but often overlooked by most techs who often charge into the equipment to look for a non existent fault.Comment
